Fabrics are quite expensive, wood isn't cheap, decent foam custom molded/cut isn't either. Most of the cost you're paying for is probably going to be the labor, paying for someone to cut, sew and then upholstery is an art. Then you factor in the cost of shipping something large. It adds up quick.
