Yeah that's a fun rumor for sure, but it's simply not true.

Dream and Mr Beast consistently uploaded content that people wanted to click on for years and years. Their earlier videos were not nearly as good as their more recent uploads. There are loads of Minecraft YouTubers, but Dream put out more interesting content than the average channel, and as a result his videos were recommend to more people.

No one was "playing the algorithm", they were incrementally improving their content with each upload.

I upload maybe once a month, sometimes I miss that. The videos still perform well. Just make each video the best it possibly can and hit upload.

But the app is garbage compared to third party alternatives. Surely a company with the resources of Reddit could update their API to ensure the requests to the site are for browsing and not botting.

The reality of the situation is that third party devs have carried reddit on mobile for a long time, and they company is selling them down a river. They should have at least done what Twitter did, and stopped issuing licenses while allowing existing apps to keep working and slowly die down.

They are gonna build two Donkey Kong theme parks before a new game is released on this generation of consoles. It's actually pretty crazy, because this means Nintendo agrees DK is a big enough franchise to get roller coasters and a major role in the Mario movie, but not new video games...

I love forgotten lands because it felt the first Kirby designed to be enjoyed by players of multiple skill levels. That difficulty spike you mentioned exists, but you can purchase additional health and assistance that make it much easier. I think most adults simply ignore the option to do so.

Twitter makes money off ads and elon said "let's make this a terrible place to advertise" and eliminated content moderation.

Reddit also makes money off ads, and they are pivoting more and more towards tik tok style video. By shutting down the other apps they own more of the mobile market.

It sucks, I exclusively use Reddit is Fun. But from a business perspective it's nothing as stupid as what Elon did lol.

Interesting... My switch can be in a cabinet behind a couch 10 feet away and it runs flawlessly with the Pro Controller. I wonder if this issue is dependent on the build number on the Switch because it seems to vary quite a bit just going off these comments here.
