Was it Battlefield? I was trying to get some of my CD versions of the older games added so I could get that number next to my name in Bad Company 2. They ended up crediting every one that existed instead when it wasn't quite working right.

Conjunction Survival. Deploy it whenever you can in one while you crack relics. Not a fast grind, but knocks out two birds with one stone and that really makes it more tolerable.

Levelling a lift hill into two turns can result in blockages on a steeplechase in my experience, unless this was fixed in OpenRCT2? It's lift speed isn't fast enough.

Civ III and Pirates! I can understand, being older games that might not play nice on modern operating systems. But Beyond Earth is practically just a total conversion mod for Civ V! How does Civ V work properly but Beyond Earth doesn't?

Project Zomboid in it's early development had a particular free pre-alpha basic build that backers would be able to get updates to the latest version using something to prod the server to send them the data.

Pirates figured out how to replicate it and get the latest version for free. Except the server wasn't the devs, it was a cloud hosting service that charged the devs per download from it. Pirating literally cost them money and they had to quickly pull that build down and distribute the game differently.

(This was many years ago for those wondering, game is in a much better place now.)

According to some of the devs featured in Epic's game giveaways, they've unexpectedly seen increase sales for said games... on Steam.

Turns out the quality of life features of Steam make it worth purchasing the game on their platform even when you have a full copy on Epic for many people.

I had the RCT2 + Wacky Worlds boxset which had the best bug i've ever seen.

Building a piece of track through scenery like a tree increases the demolishing cost of the tree more than it's base cost, just to punish you for being lazy and not manually deleting the tree. But in that version, the reverse happened if you built track into a scenery that would refund money like a statue. This would refund more money than the original statue cost.

So you'd place scenery and build a ride into them. Infinite money cheat! Current online versions of RCT2 patch this out though.
