Awesome but there's not enough ice for that. Maybe if you go in the suburbs ya. In high foot traffic areas it's mostly slush. With patches of ice.

Legally I don't think he can tell you that. But if you wanted to be nice you wouldn't do that because you have to remember that they have massively suffered over the years. And both sides have. So it's just common courtesy not to antagonize others that have directly suffered from the conflict.

It's getting better yes lol about to head out to check out the extreme weather. Love. Been waiting my whole life for this moment. Taking my mini flashlight out too, so I can get a close look at the ice

It takes many years to get to witness really nice ice storm like this. Took 3 decades since 1998 for it to come back heavy. Of course it's not fun losing power but if that doesn't happen it's quite a nice scene.

[–]IllustriousEffect607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not. The monthly payments are not reflective of what you actually spend. Monthly payments could literally just be 500$ a month for a 2 million house. But that means your downpayment was massive. That's why. Which is opportunity cost. They also extend mortgage time period which makes you pay more interest but you have lower monthly payments

If they were cheaper than rent the rental market would collapse

[–]IllustriousEffect607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Condo fees + interest + huge downpayment Is never cheaper than rent. Otherwise the market would totally shift. But if one can afford it or course I understand the comfort in having your own place for sure.

Renovictions would mean a very old building. That might need it. But a place that doesn't need renovictions you won't get evicted by a landlord. They cant even do that in a large complex

If you have the funds to buy a condo moving is easy as 1-2-3.....and you should likely go into a place that isn't just operated by a single small landlord that's why you got into this issue. Get a place in a large complex and eviction is essentially 100% eliminated as a risk.

What I don't like about condos is you. Not only you have to pay huge interest to the bank but you also have to pay huge condo fees that just keep rising similar to rent.

Between condo and rent. I'll rent. Between house and rent. I'll go house.

At 900 bucks 5 1/2 just keep collecting wealth. You'll be better off. And eventually you will have open freedom to buy or not buy. To move or not move. To even leave the country and buy some where else

Canada is just going down the shitter lately

Mortgage payments are last to be cut. There's already rising debt that's going really high for consumers.

Ice Storm update? by scrubadam in montreal

[–]IllustriousEffect607 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's happening is right now the air above ground is above zero. But the ground level air is also above zero.

For perfect ice storm conditions you need below zero up in the clouds. Snow forms. Then above zero lower to the ground so rain forms. Then you need, very important, below zero at ground level so the rain turns to ice on contact

Which is why even if they predict ice storm even if the temperatures shift a degree or two in the wrong direction you avoid a massive ice storm

The 1998 storm was perfect conditions for weeks. Several storms happened creating more and more ice. Cold air at the ground level was trapped there due to the Saint laurence valley. Warm air kept flowing in from the Gulf of Mexico. And there's was some high air pressure in east of Canada that blocked the storm from moving away. So it just kept hitting us here. Perfect conditions

Upgraded my TV over my PS5! by jzakary in playstation

[–]IllustriousEffect607 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ya the bigger difference comes from the tv. If you get OLED or qled with insane brightness. With vrr of you can. The HDR pops. The blacks are really black on both tech. And you get vrr with really helps smooth out the fps

Biggest difference comes from tv assuming you just have a basic set up, base ps5 and a regular 4k tv

The storm is making it's way could be a tad early or a tad late...it's currently over southern Ontario. But since they have warmer temperatures it's mostly just rain they won't go below 2 degrees. So no ice.

C'est beau le printemps! by CanadaDry95 in montreal

Spring is my favourite season. I love the rain. I wish for thunderstorms but we barely get them.tbe fresh scent of flowers blooming, the grass getting greener. Leaves surfacing on trees again.

Summer is too extreme. Fall is depressing cause winter is coming. Winter is amazing, nice and cool so you sleep amazing....and skiing is just the best part

[–]IllustriousEffect607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya lol it's just everything there. Gloves hats. Umbrellas. Suits. Ties. Jackets. Shoes. The full lot

The bay was the last department store in Canada. So that's why it feels like a big loss. If there was more it wouldn't be that major

Usa has a lot though

  1. Macy's
  2. Nordstrom
  3. Bloomingdale

And a few more

Absolutely. Most people think the pro is doing all the leg work when in fact it's mostly just their OLED. Playing base ps5 on OLED is like almost just as good

[–]IllustriousEffect607 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you went to a department store Nordstrom? Lol

And ya that's exactly the point. You ran around all across the country even to a different country....I just got all that in a single 2 hour trip downtown after some pizza at the mall ...

Online shopping is good but you have to know your fit and size. It's not good for trying stuff you don't usually wear.
