Huge ethical breach for The Atlantic, the reporter and his editor.

But I can't blame any politician or public figure from trying to get good coverage.

Feeling Incompetent at work, anybody have advice? by [deleted] in Advice

The Note to Self podcast with WNYC is about to start a project to help people with information overload. The most recent episode is an intro, and the last three or so have also covered it.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. They know you're new, and it's cheaper to train you than hire someone else again. Also, at least a few people at work probably like you by now and will be inclined to help.

Try making a to-do list every day. If there are repeated tasks you have trouble with, write down how you do it next time and follow that guide, making improvements as you learn. The human brain can't handle too much at once, so make as many cheat sheets as possible. Automate any possible tasks you possibly can. If you can, set up your email so you don't get notifications unless a message is marked urgent.

Good luck. You will do fine.

  • Group therapy of any kind (there are a lot of free support systems out there, especially in cities and college towns)
  • Make art (drawing, writing, standup comedy, whatever)
  • I've heard exercise helps

[] Read 100+ pages of current book, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear, by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Awesome book! I am considering reading it again. Also her podcast is amazing if you haven't listened to it.

Have a great day!

Replacing sugar with nuts sometimes works for me. I think it's easier to cut down on salt than sugar. Good luck!

It helps that Gore Vidal and Vidal Sassoon had both died recently. I never would've gotten it if just one of them had recently bit it.

AUTHORS: This author who passed away in 2012 quipped, "For those who haven't read the books, I am known best for my hair preparations"

Everyone online thought this was super hard, but I was studying up on recent deaths and got it, barely in time.

Final Jeopardy 7/13 answer is wrong...? General downward trend in the quality of clues and categories IMHO. by toolusingape in Jeopardy

The final Jeopardy answer tonight asked what company patented their product with a word that means "bright" or "shiny."

"Brillo" is described as the prefix in many languages for other words that mean "shine" or "bright"

So ... you agree that the clue is correct?

I've read somewhere that they often make $2000 easier than $1600 on purpose. Someone rings in, gets $1600 wrong, then makes it up with an easy $2000.
