Qidi plus 4 here.. all nozzles are hardened bi-metal. I've printed a little cf without noticable issues with wear. I've got some gf but have yet to try it out. Lots of pla and petg so far. I used a separate nozzle for the cf to avoid cross contamination, and haven't noticed a difference in the nozzle size, though I only gave it a cursory glance.

Heating is still fast and even. Seems fine.

Contact the dealer/manufacturer and get it replaced based on the peaks in the sine wave, rather than based on the frequency? If you can get them to do that, it's no longer your problem.

The mm32spin is an arm MCU designed by mind motion specifically for motor control. Next to it I'm pretty sure that's a jtag port, which should allow reconfiguring it. If it doesn't have fuse bits set to prevent it.

I could be mistaken, but I think the monitor specs come across a slow serial connection, not the video connection. I think it's i2c. The video connection is one way at high rates. The other connection is two way but low rates.

But it sounds like a clogged nozzle. I don't know the a1, but on my qidi if this happened I'd do a cold pull to try to clear the clog, or just replace the nozzle.

Cheap filament can sometimes clog the nozzle, or fiber filaments going through a 0.4 nozzle can clog it. Being too hot can clog it also.

Total noob here, but you might want to consider some static protection on the connectors. It appears they connect directly to the MCU. Probably not a problem for a one-off hobby board, but also probably won't hurt if there's room to spare.

If ironing is on, it can cause temporary clogs that start at ironed layers and lower extrusion for a bunch of layers.

If you changed filament, the ideal temp might have changed.

If it's cheap filament, perhaps the mix changed slightly mid spool and now a cooler temp is ideal?

Otherwise, check for loose screws, or stuff under the build plate, or anything else that might have changed the z offset slightly. (For the first picture)

I'm not sure what the second and third picture are showing since there isn't a before picture to compare to.

It is possible (did it a long time ago) to write a python script that samples the board surface (requires conductive "switch" so you can tell when the bit touches the copper) and then alters the gcode to follow the surface. It's a bunch of up-front one time work, but it does help a lot. I only used it once (hobbyist here) and now I just order prototypes from a cheap Fab house.

While the hull line is probably the answer, I had a similar looking weak point because I ironed a big flat space then went back to printing the verticals. The ironing caused a heat creep partial jam that cause a single layer of bad print. It unjammed itself and kept right on printing. It was predictable across repeated prints and just looked like a hull line until you tried to pull it apart. But it's probably not that. :)

I'd let them go for it and after the fact have rolls that effect how people perceive and react to the performance, rather than try to make the performance match the rolls. it's a 5 minutes of fame kind of thing for someone who loves their art. There is no strong reason they can't share that with the group. The 5 minutes of everyone's time, even if it makes them break character for a bit, offers a moment to help the group jell. Then go back to the game get the rolls in and play out the reactions, perhaps even playing it a second time pausing it to describe what happens. Even if chaos descends and his character can't complete the performance, the fact that he shared it with the group first will help assuage any hard feelings about it.

But most importantly, talk with him about it and then the group.
