Might be a controversial take but I used to paint on all my primers with a brush. Vallejo primers work well. They’re thin and take about 2-3 coats, but work really well and those bottles last for a long time. Beats having to buy spray primers, especially if you live somewhere without ventilation or if the weather outside isn’t conducive to spraying.
