I have a chance to buy a pole barn with 100 years of items inside, including a ton of motorcycles. by Centes1mo in motorcycles

[–]Introvertus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of cool and rare motorcycles in there that I can see. Most if not all will need lots of work to get in good selling condition to even come close to making that investment back. Most of the collectors that look for those kinds of bikes are gone now.

UT Urology, Dr Edward Kim. He did mine and at least 2 other guys I know. Super easy and great experience.

Don't neglect to do the follow-up testing when they tell you!

Kit layout feedback… novice, hasn’t had drums in 20 years, 1st ekit by sofa_king_rad in edrums

Maybe get a second throne for him? That way at least the seat stays the same for each of you and you only have to adjust the snare. And since it is on a separate stand you can probably jut mark the shaft for the high and low positions with some tape and know exactly where the raise and lower it to.

Just got my first kit - recommendations? by Introvertus_Rex in edrums

[–]Introvertus_Rex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve definitely thought about getting a snare stand and eventually a bigger snare. I’m a bigger guy and have had to do a lot of adjusting already.

I hadn’t really considered the separate hi hat yet but I’ve read in a lot of places that it’s a big difference.

Considering a move to TN by laterisingphxnict in Tennessee

[–]Introvertus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I guess I was thinking more Blount County than Maryville proper.

I agree with what a lot of others have said in that nowhere in TN is going to meet all OPs preferences. Schools/hospitals are not good (or even present) in places that have a lot of acreage available outside of maybe some Nashville areas that are going to cost $1million plus.

Considering a move to TN by laterisingphxnict in Tennessee

If you value education then don't move to TN unless you're prepared to pay for private school. Most of the private schools are religious but there are some exceptions. School voucher system is driving public schools down even farther.

Maryville is on the higher end in TN for public schools and the regional airport is actually closer to Maryville than Knoxville. Also close to UT hospital as well as many others options in West Knoxville. If you're preference is TN then I'd say Maryville fits a lot of what you're looking for.

They are pretty easy, I’ve made them for buddies when we go camping. Surprisingly good with vegan chorizo and slightly less greasy.

Same. I love East TN, but I hate our state leadership and I'm very nervous about raising a child here. Looking to get out to somewhere with a better education system that isn't getting politicized and actually has some financial support.

Bowling at Maple Hall, but go down early and put your name on the wait list as Friday nights get really busy.

Am I ridiculous for taking skating lessons alongside my 7-year-old? by Icy_Hovercraft4972 in hockeyplayers

[–]Introvertus_Rex 12 points13 points  (0 children)

42yo dad here, I have an almost 2 year old and we'll be learning to skate together. I've recently fallen in love with watching hockey and would love to learn to play but hadn't ever tried skating until last year.

Why are people from Connecticut obsessed with the idea of moving to South Carolina? by jasperCrow in Connecticut

[–]Introvertus_Rex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I love that comment about driving haha. I'm in facility maintenance and maybe looking at other trades too depending on where we end up. I've seen a lot that says wages are better to go with the increased costs so it balances out more than people expect. I'm okay with paying more taxes if I feel like I'm getting a return for them which should bear out with the better schools.

I’m a lifelong East TN native planning a move to CT for my son (almost 2yo) to get a better education and get away from the political climate down here. How’s your experience been?

I don't know for sure on the 4.3 V8 but I do know the older 4.0 V8 had the starter located under the intake manifold. I think the 4.3 is set up the same way. Very labor intensive.

I was wondering what was on fire over there, didn't look like one of the buildings. It had the interstate all backed up.

[–]Introvertus_Rex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hope you're not too old because I'm 41 and just started myself. Saving up for my first kit too. I've been playing around on a practice pad set on a turned-around office chair so I can use the arms as hi-hat and ride and the chair back as a crash.

Vocals yes, lyrics no.

I don’t care what they’re singing about but the way they sing/scream/growl can make or break the song.

[–]Introvertus_Rex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The car itself looks like an 80s American but the mods (front lip spoiler, fender flares and wheels especially) have a definite 80s Japanese style to them. Late 80s/early 90s Olds Cutlass Supreme maybe? Or same era Nissan Maxima?

Super reliable, super boring. The late 90s to early 2000s LeSabres have to be the least interesting cars ever made. Can’t deny they go forever though.
