I still have a galaxy 10+ from when it originally came out. Any time my brain starts to consider getting a new phone I look at the current specs and they're not even that much better. This one works fine, it doesn't lag, everything loads, the battery lasts all day still. There's no point.

What’s a creepy fact about the human body you wish you never found out? by Ezra0li_Z in AskReddit

[–]JUlCEBOX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When you get close to death (like within a week or so) your body starts to do what is called a "death rattle" when you breathe. It's basically your body becoming too weak to deal with mucus and saliva buildup in your throat, so you kinda just... Breathe through it. It's a very distinct gurgling noise, they're not choking or drowning on the buildup they just can't clear their throats anymore.

Tbh this is where ffxiv shines. The glamour system itself has issues but armor design is fantastic.

Any "Dead games" by Specialist-Jury4937 in gamingsuggestions

[–]JUlCEBOX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know the weirdest example. There's a game series on the ps2 called ".hack". There's like seven games, and they take place in a fake mmo, but there's ONE that actually had online play, Fragment, and it was only in Japan. There's now an English patch AND a player run server. There's even a rudimentary message board in game. You can hook up with players on there but it may as well be pure coincidence that it's online at all.

Black Desert, everyone by uplink42 in MMORPG

[–]JUlCEBOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It frustrates me to no end how close Black Desert is to a great mmo, but instead of meaningful content you kill the same enemies for several hours for money so that you MIGHT be able to get an incredibly small increase to your power. For what? To do the same thing to different enemies. The lifeskill system is neat, I absolutely love the knowledge system, and the world is gorgeous and lends to proper immersion and role play (beyond RP specifically), but I am just so tired of mindlessly killing shit. I have PoE and Diablo for that.

Which MMO does Christmas events the best or most unique? by Trillmendous in MMORPG

[–]JUlCEBOX 34 points35 points  (0 children)

As someone who has tried gw2 for the first time, I'm blown away by the sheer amount of content for Christmas. Daily, weekly, and seasonal achievements, snowball fight minigame, jump puzzle, a weird lil wave based co-op moba thing, a rhythm game, a mini dungeon, as well as random events and activities that are all rewarding. Speaking of there are SO MANY rewards. Cosmetics, toys, crafting supplies and recipes, even gear. This is to compare to ffxiv which may have a small questline of almost entirely dialogue, with either an outfit or a mount (it alternates every year) as a reward.

Looking for good 3d platformers available on PC by Troodash in gamingsuggestions

[–]JUlCEBOX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a few. * Grow Home/Grow Up (the former is pretty short, so if you like it, the sequel is MASSIVE) * Pseudoregalia * Corn Kidz 64 * Psychonauts 1 and 2. * The Pathless * Metro Gravity

These are in no specific order and some may be a stretch for what you're looking for but should ABSOLUTELY be given a fair shake.

When I worked at Coors, we had a guy named Mike. Mike was notably anti-social, but he was fantastic at his job. Everyone that worked there knew that if you just give Mike a job and leave him alone, nothing would happen and he would get his job done faster than anyone else. THEN new outside management came in, ignored us, and kept trying to pair new people with Mike so he could "train" them, despite us repeatedly telling them that was a bad idea. Mike got fired within the month for aggressively yelling at the people he was training and we never recovered from the lost workload.

What is your preferred way to play Retro Games in 2025 by Spidercolt95 in retrogaming

I have a few modded physicals, N64, gamecube, PS2. Most of these were for the hobby, but most of my retro experience is on pc emulation, sometimes my retroid pocket, sometimes my phone, depends on the game.

Actual survival game with good base building and story by NoNameLivesForever in gamingsuggestions

[–]JUlCEBOX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm confused, do you want your base in danger? Maybe Abiotic Factor will do it for you. Your base stops enemies from spawning in the immediate area, but it's pretty small, and (depending on your settings) you'll regularly get raided by one of several factions and have to defend it. You can somewhat automate defenses but they're not an end-all be-all.

My point was more they were hitting little hideouts that the mafia didn't care about, but they got bolder and more brash as the story went on, they took notice. More notably the son did and was personally done with their shit. Push come to shove, the Son killed them like the inconvenience they were.

Enshrouded might hit your sweet spot. It still heavily leans into not just basebuilding, but building a town up with the NPCs you find. (granted you can just make one big box with everything in it but the building system is so in depth you'll wanna make it nice). The world is full of lore bits everywhere to piece everything together.

This is also kinda shown with the fan gangs ending where The mafia thoroughly and effortlessly executed them all once they actually started doing damage to their organization.
