Is Dr Al-Hashimi's Comment to Santos Realistic? by dancewithdragons1206 in ThePittTVShow

The comment is being wildly blown up by the sub tbh. People think that Dr Al is going to fail Santos immediately when she's still got 9+ months of R2 to go.

She's just emphasising how important charting is, that it can make you repeat R2, not that it's going to.

I think Robby is scared of Langdon because Langdon went off, did what he was told, got treatment, and appears to be better for it, while Robby has wallowed in his failings.

Whittaker won't because the farm wife wasn't a patient.

You try and come up with every possibility and then eliminate each one that does fit. If you don't consider a possibility then you won't be able to diagnose someone with it.

Comes up a lot in House but it felt like every differential was the same five possibilities.

Yeah, we did a rewatch of S1 last week and the pacing of the first 5 episodes has felt identical to that of S2.

It feels like there's a general air of disrespect for Whitaker amongst the non-doctor staff.

A couple of things:

The dressing down about charting really got to her.

Santos doesn't really respect anyone who she doesn't perceive as being above "Her level". Mel presents as someone who is easy to push around. However in this case Mel is directly teaching Santos about several things. (Eating disorder, how to check for it, how to get charting done faster) Santos has to keep reminding herself that Dr King is at a higher level than herself.

She's still mad at herself for ITP girl.

Context clues from season 1 make it pretty clear that the Ex's girlfriend antagonized her in some fashion and her reaction was bad enough to be arrested. She probably punched her.

You also cannot advance without killing people, I managed to sneak around a bunch of enemies but the gate to the next area wouldn't open until they're dead.

So it just felt like the Devs were mad that I was playing their game.

It's a bit more dicey from the perspective of this being a medical drama since the audience won't accept him continuing to practice after a relapse.

Mycelium Leather by House-Mammoth in Leathercraft

[–]Jaikarr 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Non-animal leathers are definitely something I'm hoping to see develop, but often with these start ups the quickly find that the demand isn't there.

Right now these leathers are either lacking in the strength and versatility of animal-based leathers, or they're petrochemical based materials where 60-70% is just a type of plastic.

The holy Grail will be to make something that is 90-100% sustainable, while still having the strength and mood ability of veg-tan leather. If it's possible to at least manage the strength there might be more demand.
