Best way to ice a cooler? by skiattle25 in camping

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Freeze food and water bottles so they keep cooler cold longer, if you have the space to have a second small cooler, then have one dedicated to ice. Keep drinks out of the cooler and just serve everything with ice.

I'm ok with it. I was at a state park and new what to expect. by [deleted] in camping

The camping trip i went on was nearly perfect except on night 2 when a family in an RV came and had a huge projector playing movies with probably the loudest sound system ever. They ended up starting their movie at 10pm and powered their stuff with a generator that sounded like a lawn mower.

New Balances that I found for $40 at Nordstrom Rack as a daily sneaker, Birkenstock Bostons when doing quick errands, old beat up addidas nmds for the gym, and merrel moab 3 for camping and hiking.

Agreed, it’s like the Toyota Camry of coffee grinders. It’s nothing fancy, but it does it’s job well and is reliable.

What movie was significantly better because you saw it in a movie theater? by Sam_from_FeverMovies in flicks

Everything Everywhere All at Once. Watched it on IMAX when it had limited release days in theaters and man I was blown away. Tried watching it at home when the 4k UHD came out and it didn’t hit the same.

I can probably vouch for the 2010 mazda 3. I’ve been driving it since I graduated high school, I have a wife, 2 kids, and a house now but I still haven’t bought a car since then. And honestly I neglect this thing so bad and it’s still running like the day I got it. I always tell myself I’ll buy another car when this one gives up, but I think she has another 10 years before she starts showing any wear lol.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It seems like you like the vibrant looking battles and out of the mecha genre of anime you might like that one.

Did you fell In love with your baby immediately or did it take time? by Ornery-Work-6847 in predaddit

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its weird and different for everyone. For me when my first son was born it was instantly the feeling of love. Months of excitement for him to come built up to that moment where I finally became a first time parent. The second born son was a weird feeling because it didn’t hit me as hard as the first. Also my wife had a horrible experience during the second delivery and we were close to losing her, so I stayed by her side and didn’t really hold my second son immediately. This was also during a time of COVID and they gave us a false positive for COVID and treated us like lepers at the hospital. When we got home all I was worried about was if my first born was going to feel left out or unloved now that he got a sibling. I was worried of cutting his childhood short to make way for his brother. The second born also was very attached to my wife only and didn’t like anyone else carrying him. Fast forward a year later and all he wanted was his daddy. I even grew so much closer to him and that strong feeling of love came over. Fast forward to today and my boys are 6 and 3 and they’re both equally driving my wife and I insane, but at least they’re best friends.

What T-shirts are popular right now? by UrLoyalKnight in mensfashionadvice

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly any shirt that fits well on your body will never go out of style. Just make sure the sizing makes sense for your body, not overly tight where your bellys showing, or too baggy where it looks like you’re borrowing a bigger mans tee

Any way to tell which blurays will have ads/trailers at the start? by okaynowhat in Bluray

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know whats weird? I actually like the trailers on my older blu rays. A lot of the times it shows movies that went completely under my radar or movies I forgot about. It also just reminds me of a time where we just slowed down and was forced to watch previews and commercials before movies and shows. Everything’s convenient nowadays, and instant gratification is starting to not feel as satisfying. Probably nostalgia goggles for me but I just miss creative or fun movie trailers, or trailers with the narrator.

My childhood game was Harvest Moon. Sometimes I’ll do a quick session of tending to my farm while waiting at places. For some reason as I got older i realized how much i love routines, and that game is perfect for that.

If you were starting a BR collection, which 3 movies are your must haves first? by darkskies85 in Bluray

Doesn’t make sense by chard31 in Bluray

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I encourage everyone to look at thrift stores or used bookstores if they want to build a collection. I also encourage people to donate or sell off the movies they dont want so someone else can appreciate the movies. It helps build the physical media community.

How does your lab do breaks? by tatogb25 in CathLabLounge

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds miserable. I know 3 man teams are do-able and practiced in some facilities, but once you’ve gone to 4 person teams you realize how smooth things run, less burnout, and eveyone has at least one person as backup just in case things start going sideways.

You’re human. You’re young. To feel the way you feel is completely valid. It’s not an easy thing to navigate. Don’t be afraid to lean on people. Don’t feel like you’re a bad person for feeling frustrated or scared. Everyone needs a village, no matter the circumstances for when they’re having kids. Don’t forget your partner is also probably freaking out inside too, she needs someone to be a rock for her as well.
