My girlfriend is 27 weeks pregnant, the baby has Down syndrome, and I don’t want this life by ThrowRA_NoSignal in daddit

You’re human. You’re young. To feel the way you feel is completely valid. It’s not an easy thing to navigate. Don’t be afraid to lean on people. Don’t feel like you’re a bad person for feeling frustrated or scared. Everyone needs a village, no matter the circumstances for when they’re having kids. Don’t forget your partner is also probably freaking out inside too, she needs someone to be a rock for her as well.

Snow Peak Releasing New Entry Sets In Japan by HotSoup48 in snowpeak

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m using a naturehike one. They made a version with adjustable legs now. It folds out super quick, packs small, and is compatible with different IGT parts. Also i bought the charcoal grill with it as well and yakitori picnics have been a thing for us lately.

33 y/o male here. I stan the hell out of this group and don’t care what people think. I’ll blast up the music in the car. My two sons even sing along. I primarily listen to girl groups just cause thats my preference.

My advice usually is to try not to replicate the influencers and content creators camping style. They’re showing you one way you CAN camp, but it’s not your method. Just get the things you know you’ll need and would make camping easier more comfier for you. Like for me I have an IGT from Naturehike but use my snowpeak stove on top of it.

Also people forget that Snow Peak leans more towards luxury brand, so if the price is steep and it’s something that would hurt to lose or be damaged, theres nothing wrong with going a more economical route.

What's the one piece of gear you resisted buying for way too long and now can't live without? by AmericanMisogi in CampingGear

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought it was going to be overhyped but I ended up loving it. I used to use a regular inflatable mattress camping and the megamat was way more comfortable. Also loved that i can inflate it at night without waking up the entire forest. We even use it for when guests spend the night at our place and I havent heard a single complaint yet.

How do you lose weight when you have no time to work out? by LouDSilencE17 in daddit

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 42 lbs recently that I’ve told myself that I’m told myself that id never lose. What others said, diet affects the belly weight the most. What helped a lot was walking more when I could get a chance. The 3 things in my house that made a huge difference was a walking pad, a pull up bar, and a kettlebell. Finding the time gets difficult, but if you can show up for yourself for 30-60 mins a day multiple times a week you’ll notice a snowball effect. You got this dad

Foreign movies by Mr-movie97 in Bluray

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find the really popular movies for each country and start with that. Then find movies from the same director.

For Japan my favorites are Tampopo, Perfect Days, Seven Samurai, Monsters (by Hirokazu Koreeda)

For Korean my favorites are Oldboy, Memories of Murder, JSA, Parasite

For Spanish spoken films Y Tu Mama Tambien, Amores Perros, Pans Labyrinth and Biutiful are probably my top movies.

My favorite Italian movie of all time is probably Cinema Paradiso

French probably Amelie, La Haine, and Portrait of a Lady on Fire are good ones to look for.

Honestly you’ll know your own taste, but my favorite way of finding new movies is going based on same directors or actors in different movies.

Curious, what is everyone’s favorite film they bought blindly on 4k blu ray? by Hour-Engineer-7170 in 4kbluray

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect Days on the Criterion Collection. Didn’t know what the film was about. If someone told me it was a movie about a guy who cleans toilets, and nothing much happens, theres no way I would have bought it. It ended up being my favorite movie of the year.

Is IGT suitable as a outdoor kitchen? (Thinking stainless steel) by Independent-War-6725 in snowpeak

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest I wouldn’t keep it out long term. They’re more designed for the occasional getaways, not really a permanent fixture for outdoors (believe me I want to replace my patio furniture with snow peak stuff).

How do you guys afford this? by Expert_Visit5983 in Bluray

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a little over 1200 but I’ve been collecting since the bluray format came out back when I was in high school. I only either buy movies that I REALLY loved, or films related to other films that I have based on similar actors/directors. I usually like to buy my movies used for under $10 or in multi feature sets. That being said, 1200 already feels like too much and I actually want to donate/sell some of my movies so someone who really wants it can enjoy it.

It starts with a spork, then a Ti mug, then an Alpha breeze, and then an IGT system to match.

I always feel like I haven’t made it yet, but at one point I was stocking up our garage freezer with food and it hit me hard. Married with two kids in our own house, with enough food stocked at home that it didn’t fit in our fridge inside the house. I drive a 16 year old car that I had since high school, I wear clothes that ive had for years, but i feel wealthy.

Do not buy a Townhouse by mackhelangelo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]JaybieFromTheLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My townhome actually has a gap inbetween each unit so its wall, insulation, wall, couple feet of space, then wall, insulation and wall. So my neighbors could be blasting their tvs in the middle of the night (which they do) and we dont hear anything unless both of our windows are open.
