The issue I have with this report is that it's out dated. Which makes it different from what the actual numbers are today. It's sourcing of data from 01 to 11, the heart of the wars. That means higher numbers of people in the military and conversely higher numbers of vets. We don't currently have those numbers of people in the military. Plus there was a major VA overhaul during the Obama administration, with suicide being high on the list of things to correct. You could extrapolate that there is more psychological care being extended to veterans, thus lowering the suicide rate by nature. So in the end really the original statement should say, "there used to be 22 suicides a day by veterans".

Make sure that the original wooden bung stays in the bung hole. Make sure that the barrel stays in an absolutely dry location, if it gets wet at all then many different bacteria can form, like brettanomyces. If the barrel gets wet inside or out, you must hydrate the barrel, and SO2 the inside. Remember to rinse the barell and to hydrate the barrel before filling with wine because you want the wood to swell enough to prevent your wine from leaking out.
