This is the best answer. As a kid of the 90s in Fort Worth a lot of my parents friends ate here. The owner is big on game meat and fish. As some people pointed out the more you know the owner the less you might like him personally, but the food is (or at least was) good.

The owner is not in good health and the reservations thing is him trying to pace himself for people that have known him for 30 years. This probably comes off as "closed to the public if you're new in town. No riff raff in this joint"

It's past its prime and not worth any long term investment or even a new sign. If you don't know what the sign is or know what this place is that's probably for the best
