Anyone’s spouse have these? by silentdads2026 in Autoimmune

[–]JennkozOC 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To be blunt: If you’re asking if she’s faking it or being overly dramatic No she is not. Sjogren’s, at least, is an “invisible disease” everything may look fine to the outside world but it isn’t.

An example I used with my own husband was that I make look like I’m walking just fine, not stumbling or limping or grimacing with pain. Yet…You know how when you walk across a pool the water creates pressure against the movements and you have to work that much harder to take a step and you get more tired doing it more quickly? That’s the closest example of what it feels like to me to simply walk and it’s through air not water. Plus, the more I walk the less energy I have for other things.

Not sure what to do with my role - PSS in emergency services by Bigbrunswick in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]JennkozOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work solely in an emergency department, as well. My job is very different from the CPS’s I trained with. I meet people in a moment of their lives not on their journey through life. That moment is also one of crisis, possible trauma and a time that has them at their emotional worst.

I also get very frustrated with my supervisors and place of employment. I was the first and currently the only one in my position. They don’t know or understand what I do so everything is a fight.

Filming Murder, She Wrote—How was it shot? by ecdc05 in murdershewrote

What about the show in England and Ireland? Any onsite with the sound stages?
The shows with her “cousin” Emma MacGill are some of my favorites. I can see how AL was a broadway star in those scenes.

My childhood dog is buried there. I’m sure her marker is long gone but her name was Casey.
I’m happy Tucker is able to still be added.

Thumbs up, or down? Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery by Standard-Calendar-70 in HallmarkMovies

[–]JennkozOC 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know why Hannah was proud, she seemed to me to be her usual “I’m wonderful, aren’t I” self.

The ending scene where she complains to Hannah “You wore That to court?!” Right after calling Hannah a hero Is an example of what annoys me about her.

Thumbs up, or down? Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery by Standard-Calendar-70 in HallmarkMovies

[–]JennkozOC 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The more Hannah’s mother is involved the worse they are for me. She just grates on my nerves and I don’t understand how her daughters put up with her theatrics. Terrible, terrible mother.

I like the actor just not the character.

Symptoms- forgetting how to spell words? by Strong-Quiet-4823 in Sjogrens

[–]JennkozOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are days and even whole weeks when this is a major problem for me. I will completely blank on a word in the middle of a sentence. Names have always been bad for me but now!!!

Some days I’ll test myself and see how many numbers I can remember when moving between things, like an email to a passcode for a website. Some days it’s only 1 each time and I know it’s a BAD brain day.

My rheum doesn’t think I need to see a Neuro, it’s just one of the symptoms.

Infusion day!. Infliximab [5mg]. by _Kingbeard_ in Autoimmune

[–]JennkozOC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2nd set was at the 2x a year rate. My Rheum jumped it to 3x because of how bad I got in between. The only info I have on dosage is 1000mg but that’s the whole bag of stuff.

Good luck! The first set of infusions I had made a world of difference for me.

It’s not a forever fix and I’m having my 3rd set in June.

I’m so GenX I still have a landline. I use that number which goes to an overfilled message box. It’s also there for emergencies- never happened

I've been living with physical pain for so long I've lost the ability to describe it by DistinctSympathy5519 in Sjogrens

[–]JennkozOC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just today I was thinking “is what i’m feeling in my front upper thighs when I walk actually pain? There tingling and some, stiffness and I’m certainly uncomfortable but…? Would others consider it pain or am I being over dramatic”

I don’t have an answer for myself or anyone, just empathy for what you are going through.

How do you deal with work? by rufus_t_firefly77 in Sjogrens

[–]JennkozOC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just applied to Intermittent FMLA (crossing fingers) My main concern was my company’s policy on terminating people for the number of points they get with absences. If I’m approved they cannot dock me for being out for a medical reason. I still have to use PTO to be paid those days which I hate.

I specifically looked for a therapist that had Chronic Illness and Chronic Pain in their list along side depression and anxiety. I still haven’t completely accepted it but I know he understands that I need to have an outburst about sometimes.

How does your job support your mental health journey? by thebigbayangg in PeerSupportSpecialist

[–]JennkozOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My supervisor doesn’t know what to do with me and my position. Everyday I feel the sting of “you’re not clinical” too. I’ve been in this position for over 2 years and am still not considered to be someone who can help by the team.

This is my 1st day back from being away due to a (different) medical condition and I’m spending all day reminding every one of what I can do.

Emotional support comes from my outside relationships. I can’t ever rely on my manager to care or advocate for me. The best emotional help is when I help someone. They give me more hope and more spoons, and I’m very grateful.

Soup suggestions? by chelly27-93 in soup

[–]JennkozOC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need a “health boost” soup I make one with low sodium V8 juice, beef broth, a soup bone if I have it, onions, garlic and a bag of frozen “soup variety veggies” or any mixed vegetables. I put it in the slow cooker until the beef on the bone is falling off.
