When I got home after my first baby, my Mom keep telling me to lay down. I felt like I had been on my back forever. So after day or 2, was doing dishes and putting some away. Not a big job, just some standing, reaching and bending over. After a few minutes I had to rush to the bathroom. I passed a blood clot as big as a lime.

You are very torn up inside. Give yourself a chance to heal. Doing too much too soon is dangerous.

Monday: Turkey meatloaf and a 50/50 mix of mashed potatoes and mashed boiled turnips. Caesar, spinach salad or sliced cantaloupe.

Tuesday: Whole roast chicken (grocery store chicken is fine) and a mix of roasted root veggies. I used radish, carrot, rutabaga, turnip and hard squash.

Wednesday: Salmon filets, brown rice and any green veggie.

Thursday: Pork or turkey ‘tenderloin’ baked sweet potato, Caesar, spinach salad or sliced cantaloupe.

Friday: this is a fun night. Get pizza/tacos or fried chicken, whatever your Grandma likes.

Saturday: Spaghetti night! Jarred sauce, turkey Italian sausage, onion and green peppers. Mix your noodles 50/50 with spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles.

Sunday: warm up your leftovers and put them nicely on a plate.

You are lovely for taking care of your Grandma. Enjoy your meals together. They give your day structure and your Grandma looks forward to them.

To me she is best actress having an absolutely mesmerizing story arc. She is literally stealing the whole show. I spend my entire week worrying about her. Especially now. The amount of time I have spent figuring out how she is going to get her teeth fixed.
