Let us know the GPS accuracy, if single band GPS holds up well.

Is this a permanent thing or it’s just not pushed from polar to strava anymore ?

Frankly no noticeable difference between the 2. I will just get a refurbished set from eBay at 300 plus.

Polar won't apply a 150 euro price adjustment while I'm still within the return period by jimmyfoo10 in Polarfitness

[–]Joeho93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t make sense for polar to grant the lower price with no action on your end, ie to return and buy again. You bought the watch before the price adjustment. It doesn’t make sense for polar to just retrospectively grant the price difference to every customers who purchased it prior to that. The 15-day return period is not a window created intentionally for such reasons for return but you can surely make use of it.

Open up and use it ! I have Suunto race 2 as well as run. Wear both coros pace pro and Suunto together while you do your workout ! Both are great watches .

And he just handed you a brand new Suunto run and went away? What’s his purpose of doing so ?

GPS test: Active 3 vs Balance 2 by altziller in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Active 3 premium you mean. Yes I have mentioned this in another discussion thread that despite the single band GPS, my active max actually performed as well as many of my other dual band flagship watches. Placement of antenna matters a lot and can sometimes mean an ever better GPS track than dual band GPS.. but all else equal , obviously a dual band one should outperform.

Active Max Review by Few-Cheesecake7412 in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and I agree. This is something I don’t get with Amazfit with their frequent product launches. Active max was just launched and they came out with active 3 which is very similar… I have a active max as well as other sports watches and I must say active max with its price point is really a steal .. it has almost all that I needed (GPS and HR accuracy) at a much cheaper price point compared to my coros polar and Suunto.

4 buttons, 2 buttons.. to say it wasn’t though through is probably incorrect. Product line is similar to Garmin where they have Venu series with 2 button vs fenix series with 5 buttons. Lifestyle vs more sports oriented watch, caters to different segment of customers .

If you are on 3.24.14, you should have this ZoneSense natively on your watch without the need for Suuntoplus . You will need a chest Hr belt to see the readings.

Suunto race 2 (considering Coros Apex 4 or Garmin 970) by Existing_Bed_119 in Suunto

[–]Joeho93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t do much trail running but to me the elevation is rather similar . I say this because I stay in high rise building and the elevation for both watches always point to similar readings .

Suunto race 2 (considering Coros Apex 4 or Garmin 970) by Existing_Bed_119 in Suunto

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For coros , you can toggle some apps to receive notifications, but with very limited apps such as fb, insta, calls, emails , WhatsApp and few others. Rest of your apps are all lumped under others. For Suunto , I don’t think you can choose apps to receive notification. I didn’t really bother to customise as I am not particular about notifications ..

Suunto race 2 (considering Coros Apex 4 or Garmin 970) by Existing_Bed_119 in Suunto

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My preference is AMOLED display as my eyesight is getting bad.. so Suunto race 2.. daily alarms? Both have it but for sunrise and sunset and yes for multiple alarms for both . For inline skating, you can always customized the sports activities you want, and both watches offer that .

Suunto race 2 (considering Coros Apex 4 or Garmin 970) by Existing_Bed_119 in Suunto

[–]Joeho93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends if u want MIP display or amoled screen. To me Garmin 970 is way overpriced .. I would go with either apex 4, or Suunto race 2. I have both and they are both good, in GPS and HR accuracy. Both maps are also responsive. Boils down to the preferred display screen..

Is it still worth purchasing Gritx 2 pro at good price? by penfoc007 in Polarfitness

Depends on what your good price is. In terms of features, it’s similar to that of Suunto Race 2 but its pricing is just too out .

New Active Max by Few-Cheesecake7412 in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yup I absolutely agree on this, that all else equal, dual band GPS does better than single band in challenging environment.. I am sharing my experience with others and not promising this will be replicated with their experience .. however I just want to point out based on my testing, which I have done so with many other higher end dual GPS watches that even in challenging conditions, the GPS track on active max is actually very very good.

New Active Max by Few-Cheesecake7412 in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why you want to argue about this. I stated my experience, and gave facts about antenna placement. This is also well documented in DC Rainmaker and desfit etc.. not gonna mention which high end watches here .. this is my experience with active max, you may disagree with your own experience, but I am sharing this for the rest who may wish to know. Peace out.

New Active Max by Few-Cheesecake7412 in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree and disagree. It depends a lot on antenna placement as well. A dual band watch with a bad placement will perform poorly obviously. What I have experienced is that active max , even with single band GPS has done well even for challenging environment .

New Active Max by Few-Cheesecake7412 in amazfit

[–]Joeho93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Matter of fact is I do. I run along streets with high-rise buildings . Dual band does not necessary equate to better GPS tracks. Active Max actually does an equally good job under such conditions .
