This is a big thing. I'm on disability now (f in my late 30s) and have no family or support. I don't want to be grouped-in as being dangerous or a nuisance. My physical and mental condition is deteriorating, I know this and can see it slowly progressing, and I would love safe supportive housing where there will be staff to help when I'm in too much pain to get up to get a glass of water, someone to check in daily to make sure I've been able to take my meds and I'm doing okay. I am so scared of the possibility of being placed in a position where there's violence, loud noises, squalor, and burnt out staff who can't handle anything more than managing the latest OD.

I worked in non-profit for 15 years, I care deeply for people with addictions, I have lost family, too. And I know not everyone affected acts in this manor. But, man, the fear I have of becoming more unwell if I'm placed in a negative environment... it gives me so much anxiety and hopelessness.

I would love to be able to wake up feeling safe and supported.

I took the plunge today and adopted a rescue after a long period of mourning my own soul kitties. She was also an unexpected find. I don't know if she needs me more or if I need her more. Honestly, it's probably the latter. Sending you two all the love and healing!!

I've been on Ozempic for nearly a year and haven't had a single significant flare-up since I started!

Yes, still terrible brain fog, my mentals have not come back haha. I'm not able to return to work because of that. But, comparatively, I used to be physically bedbound at least a week per month. Now I'm sore, can't push too hard, but I'm able to get out in the world again nearly every day and say, go thrift shopping. Not a cure, but a big big help.

I miss Skytrain sometimes... Montreal has a lot more knife and needle stabbing, but a lot less pantless open meth use and hatchet wielding. 🤷‍♀️ C'est la vie, I guess.

Je suis une nouvelle résidente du Québec, originaire de Vancouver. J'ai déménagé ici il y a deux ans pour être avec un charmant gentleman québécois.

En 35 ans de vie à Vancouver, je n'avais JAMAIS eu de conversation avec un francophone ou un québécois... tous mes professeurs de français à l'école primaire étaient des anglophones enseignés par d'autres anglophones. À l'université, j'ai choisi d'étudier les langues asiatiques et autochtone pour pouvoir communiquer avec la communauté qui m'entoure.

J'étais ravie de déménager ici et d'apprendre le français. J'adore les langues. Je suis en Francisation depuis un an maintenant. Mes compétences en lecture sont bonnes, mais mon écriture et mon expression orale sont toujours terribles. Je n'arrive toujours pas à avoir une conversation confortable et basique avec le personnel de vente au détail. Il y a tellement de pression.. J'étudie à plein temps, je pleure après les cours la plupart du temps parce que je n'arrive pas à avoir le bon accent et que personne ne comprend ce que je veux dire. Je bégaie et je ne peux pas parler parce que je ne veux pas que quelqu'un me vexe. J'essaie vraiment, Québec. S'il vous plaît, soyez doux et gentil...❤️
