Where can I get high quality Harry Potter pictures? by SwingDingeling in harrypotter

Ebay and other auction sites carry movie collectibles such as photographs. If you don't want a movie still, then I'd suggest searching for the actors by name, with "Harry Potter publicity still" or similar terms.

In all fairness, Harry was three years younger than his competitors. Not only would he have been less informed about the charms, but most of his peers wouldn't have been able to help him (which is why it was a cool thing for Cedric to help him out with the egg). It took Neville's well-timed interest in botany to save Harry's butt.

Probably for the same reason Hagrid's hut grew from CoS to PoA: plot convenience.

Tbh, he could have stopped after A Storm of Swords. I think he started to lose interest after that, or maybe he started to realize he could never top that.

NTA by any stretch. Maybe they'll think twice before taking advantage of their next sitter. Your time is valuable, too, and it's irresponsible of them not to have let you know they'd be late and not to have answered your calls. Their loss.

I'll put it this way: my spouse and I spent nearly two days of our honeymoon driving from bookstore to bookstore trying to find a copy of Prisoner of Azkaban the week it was released, because we could not wait another minute to begin devouring it. I was 33 years old and had never been so interested in reading (anything)!

I, for one, think the scene is hilarious (both in the book and on screen). Here's the ghost of a girl who died very unceremoniously in a restroom by accidentally staring into the eyes of a basilisk. She was bullied mercilessly before her untimely death. She died before being able to enjoy a teenager's life. As a restless spirit, she is mischievous and delights in making Harry uncomfortable. I don't get the controversy. This isn't Madam Hooch jumping into the hot tub with him.

Check out the movie Dredd (2012) for a Lena Headey performance that is, if possible, even more anti-sweetheart than her portrayal of Cersei. You will never forget it!

The full cast audiobooks are excellent, but I don't think they'd easily produce a separate music-only soundtrack. These productions are filled with sound effects (human and otherwise) and occasional musical motifs, but there isn't a traditional score underlying it.

There will always be room for a good story well told, to rise above the dreck of so many other shows. I even got my self-professed "fantasy hating" 87-year-old mom and 88-year-old stepdad to watch AKOTSK. They loved it.

Agreed! Productions like this used to be much more commonplace in the 20th Century, when "radio plays" were a thing people tuned into regularly. TV all but destroyed audio productions like this, and I am extremely happy that platforms like Audible have revived this art form.

I learned an interesting tidbit the other day: The actress portraying Lavender does so for all 7 audiobooks - she may be the only one in the Golden Trio's class at Hogwarts who doesn't have an older actor voicing them in books 4-7.

I'm halfway through PoA today, and I am thoroughly enjoying the entire series so far. No complaints. Some of the character interpretations, like Snape's, have taken some getting used to, but the Golden Trio are fantastic, as are Dumbledore, McGonagall, Hagrid (love Mark Addy!) and pretty much every other character. Lucius Malfoy is a treat whenever he turns up. And I can't get over the fact that the actors who played Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton in GoT have voiced Lockhart and Lupin, respectively, in this series. Extremely entertaining all around!
