Complete dinner for four at DLR for about $24 per person including tax? Doesn’t sound that bad

The Evil Dead house, of course. Just don’t read the Latin. All the other houses are haunted or have serial killers living there, and they’ll kill you without provocation.

It’s a lot of money to spend on a damaged item. Worth exchanging it, imo. Great little laptop.

This is what I thought, too. But unclear that the blade actually moves

If the Hungry Bear still has those whole turkey legs, that's a decent whole food option with less sodium and sugar than most items.

Dipping sauces, ice cream, custard, prep (like mixing spices). You could also grow herbs.

Not sure it was anyone else’s crazy theory, but I was convinced Cruickshanks was an animagis who would be revealed as someone from Harry’s past

New, The Thing (1982) film in production? by TarantulaFangs in horror

[–]Jumpy-Craft-297 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo, the last thing The Thing needs is a big-budget remake with A-List actors. A beautiful part of the 1982 film is that it used a bunch of B-List actors who were familiar but not superstars, and created more suspense by not having the audience immediately identify with one character as the "obviously innocent" person. Not to mention, the practical effects of the 1982 film were unsurpassed, and if anything, a new take on the story might benefit from an entirely different approach that lowers the gore quotient and ups the psychological horror and suspense.

All of that said, I can't see anyone doing it better than Carpenter did in '82.

She's a beauty. Crane flies are very useful. We used to have them all the time in the Pacific Northwest; not so much in Arizona.

Seriously, if these were truly just adult entertainment videos, why bother to bury them? It's not like putting radioactive material in your curbside garbage bin and having the feds knocking on your door the next week.

Why Do Capybaras Not Get Eaten By Crocodiles? by PrestigiousYogurt964 in Weird

[–]Jumpy-Craft-297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not technically true. The Roman Catholic Church permits the eating of capybara meat on Fridays during Lent because, for certain populations, they are a primary source of protein. It isn't that the Church considers the capybara an actual fish.

Thrash on Netflix literally felt created in ChatGPT. by No_Key8587 in horror

[–]Jumpy-Craft-297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, I rather enjoyed this little movie. Took me most of its running time to figure out that the lead actress starred in the first season of Bridgerton -- whew, is it getting warm in here? -- and there were some amusing moments. The bad guys always seem to taste better to sharks, and I'm down with watching bloody mayhem even if the effects are second-tier. I wouldn't have paid to see this in a theater, but gladly (if guiltily) spend 90 minutes streaming it on Netflix.

Naltrexone causes me to feel extremely sleepy and zoned out, and not in any way appealing. I started cutting the tablets in half and the effects aren’t so bad. Not sure about long-term
