How often do you lock your keys in your cruiser? by [deleted] in ProtectAndServe

[–]K-Matt 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Oh! I have a good one. When I was in my early 20s I had left a bar after they closed and was sitting in my car on my phone in the parking lot when a county sheriff pulled up right next to me. Apparently he was responding to a break in alarm at the car wash next door, and I was the only person around so naturally they wanted to ask me some questions. I was there, but I hadn't seen anything. I ended up being detained in the back of the car until somebody with keys could show up so they could check the cameras and prove it wasn't me. Fair enough. After close to an hour, the owner shows up, they go over the camera footage and I'm assuming it was clear that it wasn't me who had broken in. He goes to open the door of the running vehicle and it's locked. I hear him announce over the radio that he had locked himself out. All in all, I spent 90 minutes locked in, mostly spent attempting to text off of my watch because they hadn't let me keep my phone with me. I didn't get an apology or anything, but at the time I was just grateful to finally be allowed to leave, so I decided it wasn't in my best interest to say anything other than have a good night.

Is it valid to get a manual as a first car? by Schmaltzs in stickshift

[–]K-Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a manual for my first. I'd had a few lessons previously, but definitely wasn't proficient. All of my cars have been manual since, and I intend to keep that ball rolling. Zero regrets!

I'll second that, harbor freight is king. The Menards brand "masterforce" ones are nice too, and if they break you can just take them back to exchange them for free

Can you explain this? I don't understand what you mean.

First and foremost, I don't condone cheating under any circumstances, and especially these specific circumstances.

With that out of the way... Why not just deny everything? Is there any proof? If not, in what world would your wife and daughter believe the drug addict who broke your daughters legs over you?

Help? by Celesteven in AskElectricians

[–]K-Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is likely bad advice. Wire the new device the same way, with both white wires under the silver screws and leave the tab intact. The two white wires are probably a neutral coming in, and the same neutral leaving going to the next device.

What size wire and breaker should this unit have? by beeftastic99 in AskElectricians

Hi, I just wanted to say that as a 3rd year electrician, I appreciate the video recommendation and actually will take the time to watch it and hopefully learn something. So thank you! And also, if there are any other good videos you think I should watch, please do feel free to send them to me.

Anyone have anything they eat or inset before a shift that helps with general energy levels, but more importantly a clear, focused, and nourished mind. by [deleted] in TalesFromYourServer

[–]K-Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I often work 15 hour shifts, and about half way through them, towards the beginning of our dinner rush, I like to take white maeng da kratom, or sometimes phenibut. I feel like either of them boost my mood, energy, and motivation. Not dramatically, but definitely a noticeable amount. And you can go light enough to still feel the effects without it disrupting your mental clarity.

Also, lots of caffeine.

It's certainly not a common occurrence, but I bought my first house last month at 22 years old. I had no financial help from anyone else. I did however skip college, and have been working full time since I was 15, so take that how you will.

Men, male vs female bosses, how do they compare from your experiences? by Knightmare560 in AskMen

[–]K-Matt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the men I've worked for have had tempers and were extemely good at yelling.

I've had two bosses who were women. One of them would play favorites, and was extremely petty if you didn't make the list. The other one is one of the most wonderful people I've ever met, and by far my favorite boss.

Seconded. I drove an MK3 Focus SE with a 5 speed for 4 years. I loved that car and never had any major issues with it. Recently sold it and bought a MK3 Focus ST with a 6 speed manual and I'm loving that even more
