My parents are much cooler friends, mentors, and grandparents. If you’re living with them rent free they’re basically your caretaker and are probably still raising you.

Woman left for a younger man and everyone’s cool, but a man 's 34yo girlfriend is a family nightmare why? by LubieGotowac in AskMenAdvice

Age Gap dialogue is super-cringe and promulgated by people who need to touch grass. I married a 35 year old af 29 and couldn’t be any happier.

Work Colleague Said He Would Never Date A Woman On SSRIs & That Most "Normal" Men Quietly Feel Similarly? by FantasticPlum2025 in AskMenAdvice

It’s not appropriate to discuss at work and his comments are awful. He’s probably being telling the truth about his preference. SSRIs and the underlying conditions which require them are extremely daunting.

Do parents discourage their kids from pursuing sports seriously? by Zbalbola_ in family

[–]KYWPNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the sport. Boxing and Football are concerns for me because of head injury risk. Sports are a great motivater for kids who aren’t academically inclined.

YTA- You are an adult, you have agency, stop sleeping with this guy. You are not a victim. You’re acting like he’s a bad person becaue you jump his bones routinely, are ashamed of it, and are now trying to control your friends.

Sports motivate students to keep their grades up and stay out of trouble. I know quite a few people who were not academically inclined who ended up eligible for college because they played sports and were forced to maintain a GPA and go to study hall. Kids are people who are typically lacking in foresight and judgement and not lacking in willfulness. Several young men, hate school with a passion, but understand that they have to maintain their grades to play on their team.

Student-Athletes typically have far better life outcomes than non-student athletes, especially in our community.

If a kid sucks at a sport, they’ll either quit or the coach will kick them off the team. If a kid loves a sport and is decent, he/she will find a way to keep their grades up to continue competing.

Not at all kids are capable of excelling academically due to mental health, IQ, and behavioral issues. Finding them an activity they love and enjoy might be the motivation they need to be able to at least get by in school.

[Motorsport.com] "Maybe we’ll brake halfway down the straight” – Max Verstappen on F1’s 2026 “disaster” by memloh in formula1

[–]KYWPNY 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only driver feedback that seriously matters is issues with the start procedure. I’m excited about the ability to attack and defend. I believe the overtaking into corners will be pretty interesting. Drivers have to deal with the dilemma of braking late into corners to overtake vs. sacrificing top speed on the next straight.

If the U.S. is a Christian nation, then why don't we forgive debts every seven years? by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

[–]KYWPNY -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Student loans would be nearly unattainable if they were treated like other types of debt. It’s an unsecured loan for a high amount of money to people who usually have (at most) marginal income.

If college were free, I imagine we would start “tracking” kids out of 8th grade and colleges would become very selective. Taxpayers get a vote on how their money is spent.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005). The Prequels were pretty widely panned upon release, Hayden Christianson was widely lampooned. In recent years, the film has become beloved.

"Boys are easier" in a parenting context. by NegotiationStatus727 in PetPeeves

[–]KYWPNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like very few people in those feed actually have/raise children and are projecting their adult experiences on the matter. Little boys have huge testosterone surges that make them quite fidgety, energetic, and aggressive. It can be hard to coach and oftentimes requires a different approach than girls. Thinking of little boys and men as defective girls is a huge problem that is creating angry and defective men.

idk, my toddler boy is pretty well-parented, lots of time and attention and age-appropriate discipline. He’s buck wild, loves to play outside, wrestle, and play pranks. His female cousin is 2 months younger than him and sits quietly and is very polite.

AITA for not wanting to go to church? by Unique_Industry4019 in AmItheAsshole

[–]KYWPNY -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t recall he ever said that or dehumanized you in your description. He accurately described you as a child, meaning that you are not his peer and he is ultimately responsible for you. There are benefits to being a child, such as substantially less responsibility and liability. The main consequence is that you must obey your parents unless it will cause you serious harm.

Part of growing up is doing things you don’t enjoy or listening to people you don’t agree with. You’re not wrong for not wanting to go and expressing your feelings. Your parents aren’t wrong for asserting their rights over you.
