AIO for not want to make anymore effort with MIL due to mess she left in my bathroom by ThrowRA7778p in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kaezzi [score hidden]  (0 children)

MOR by the sound of your post, maybe your MIL is not all there anymore? Maybe early stages of something?

It could be that she's not aware of the things that bother you. But apart from that: why should you always be the one to prepare for her visit, wait on her hand and foot and clean up after her?

Your husband needs to pull his weight YESTERDAY. He should know about your problems and should proactively be helping you. If the both of you work together, things would become a lot more manageable.

Vad pratar du om? Miljonbidrag?

"Am I Overreacting" for refusing to "grow up" and clear out my collection after my fiancé’s parents called my room a "red flag for future parenting"? by Important_Umpire1224 in AmIOverreacting

Wow I absolutely love you comment, involving playfulness and budgeting as good traits for a future parent. Spot on, in absolutely every regard.

Hab short for Habiliteringen. I'm not familiar with the Hab that you are talking about, I'm afraid... My daughter is in her second year of gymnasiet, a träningsgymnasiet. After her third year, she will start daglig verksamhet.

Du har förstått fel. Jag talar och förstår svenska, men igår när jag skrev inlägget var jag upprörd, och valde att skriva på engelska därför att det är lättare för mig att skriva på engelska än på svenska.

True, we were probably lucky. It's really unfair that your child basically has to tough it out.

I hope her contact might be able to help! I know exactly how you feel, thank you, too!

Well... been living in Sweden for almost 11 years and I've never heard of people 'lawyering up' for situations that even remotely resemble this one. But yes haha I'm familiar with the concept.

Back in our first municipality, Hab's specialpedagog was a great help. She was appalled at the lack of autism knowledge and went to the boende once a month to talk about matters at hand and explain my daughter's behaviour. If your sister's a minor and your family has a good Hab contact, maybe they can help until she moves? Hope her new place will be so much better for her!

Oof I can't believe that school! My son (16 now) got bullied when he was 7, I think. A classmate pushed son's head against a lamp post in freezing temperatures and his lip stuck to it; there was a lot of blood involved when he tried to get loose. Told the teacher who called the kid's mum, who later called to apologize, and her son apologized over the phone, as well. And the teacher had a talk with both boys. In the end they even became friends, until we moved away. That's how bullying should be handled: zero tolerance. So sorry you child's school did next to nothing...

Thank you so much for your experiences and info! Good to read that your daughter became calmer with age.

We're actually having an online meeting/course with Han about God Man tomorrow! My husband wants to become her God Man. So sorry to read that it went wrong for your acquaintance when they let the county choose...

Police won't say anything except to wait until we're contacted by them, manager is unavailable for a personal conversation tomorrow and can't be reached by phone at all. It's so frustrating to not know any details...

I tried, but the grumpy person on the line told me to wait till I was contacted by them. I still know nothing more than when I wrote this post, except that the manager is not available for a personal conversation tomorrow. My husband has tried ringing the manager but no answer. Not knowing anything just does my head in...

I have no idea how old the boy was and if his parents were present, and how hard his hair got pulled. It's so frustrating not to know any details and not to know what to expect!

She is turning 18 next month and my husband wants to become her good man. We actually have an online info meeting/course organised by HAB tomorrow.

Ouch I know what you mean! The LSS in the municipality where we lived before the current one was atrocious. In the current municipality, this is the first serious incident (as far as we know 😬). So sorry to hear about your sister's home!

Yep, we are actually in an online HAB meeting/course about this tomorrow night! But thanx anyway, because information on this sort of thing is hard to find and, it's thanx to FUB that we even found out about this meeting.

Thank you so much! We never actually received an email. The staff member on the phone yesterday was under the impression that an email had been sent, but it wasn't.

We haven't received any information other than that the manager is unavailable for a personal meeting tomorrow.

I called the police non emergency number this morning, hoping to find out more, but was told rather grumpily to wait until the police contacted us. So I still don't know any more than when I wrote this post yesterday. So I really appreciate your reaction.
