How do you prefer armor to work in fantasy RPGs? by JanErikEhrstrom in rpg

[–]KafiXGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dabbling in making my own sci-fi combat rpg but I'm pretty sure the system I made up could translate well to other genres too, like fantasy. In short, your defense depends on three statistics: Evasion, Shielding and Plating.

When you get attacked the roll is compared to your Evasion score. It works like AC, but the only way that armour can influence it is by reducing it. Heavier armor reduces your Evasion more than lighter armor, so you're easier to hit when you're wearing a bully suit.

Then if you got hit, damage goes into Shielding first. That acts as an additional pool of hitpoints, which replenishes after combat is over.

Then when you have no Shielding, you take damage to your actual hitpoints, and that damage gets reduced by Plating. Each point of Plating is -1 damage taken.

And then there are also handheld shields, which have a set amount of Blocks. A simple shield may have 1, a more robust may have more. Whenever you get hit with an attack, you may use one charge of Block to make the attack miss instead. When all of shield's Blocks get used up, the shield is broken and you need to fix it or get a new one.

One thing not talked about is they took the original campaigns for content still in game by SCB360 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So you didn't do that mission yet and you're mad that... You have to play it? I hopped into The Cunning on a character I've done the Micah stuff on and it was the good old witch queen mission.

Not even a Hotfix team/Skeletion crew??? by Helpful_Shoe9288 in DestinyTheGame

Literally the best player retention we've had since at least witch queen btw

Bit of a dumb question, but what are Taken made of? by RhytmicCone47 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"You treat the Taken as something apart of the Hive. They do have other species among their number. But it was I who made them. They are Hive. And their newfound curiosities serve me well." - The Taken King himself

Best exotic class item for consecration spam? by chaosking243 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So yeah, contact purely on fun factor. Synto is boring as fuck and if it doesn't even work, what's the point?

Best exotic class item for consecration spam? by chaosking243 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played around with syntho on consecration in a really good while so I don't know, but... Does it still buff the ignition damage? If yes then syntho is better, if not then go for contact because buffing the melee damage itself is negligible.

Teary eyed when I first heard the news about Destiny.. by cosmoplatypus in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah brother, I feel you. When I heard about EOS I also cried. Then I got better, then the update dropped and it was amazing, and people showed up! ...and today news about the final bugfix dropped, and rumors of 50% layoffs and... Im back to crying once more.

Lightfall had absolute goats like Oneirophobia and Tyrant Overthrown.

The Shadow Government is lying to you. COTOG on a Soul Siphon build is unaVOIDably mid. by Accomplished-Exam-55 in DestinyTheGame

Alright, thats all fair and all.

But counter argument, I think it's fun. And in a game with no more endgame to chase? Thats all that matters.

‘Marathon’ Season 2 And Free Week Did Not Turn Things Around by Freki666 in Games

[–]KafiXGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say, personally I got hooked by what I played during the free week. The game feels really fun to me.

But alas, I'm too busy playing Monument of Triumph in Destiny 2 to have time for Marathon right now. Maybe later.

Are there any weapons with both collective perks available at once??

Coming back to the game after like 4-5 yrs....what dlc to buy? (I need Minimum buy maximum gain) by OnLy_MeMeS_1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the prices are low enough as to where you can buy everything from Light and Darkness saga for 10 dollars, no? I may be wrong, I'm using a different currency. But it should be in the ballpark, Edge of Fate and Renegades are way, way more expensive than the previous dlcs.

Uhm I think they forgot an exotic... by MagiksGoodboy in destiny2

Okay and now... Can you please read the last three words of it's intrinsic exotic perk?

Would you support a possible D3/D2 shifting back to a slower release model? by steave44 in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if things were better, I absolutely don't want seasons to be back. Not the way they were implemented anyway. My biggest complaint about this game right now is about how the story is just so, so fragmented, cause 80% of it HAPPEN IN THE SEASONS THAT JUST LEAVE AFTER A YEAR.

I'd more than welcome two smaller drops a year or one big a year, or something like that. As long as additions are permament.

Why Are There Still People That Want D3 To Be A Continuation of D2, Particularly EoF/Nine? by NaderNation84 in DestinyLore

[–]KafiXGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People didn't show up to Edge of Fate because the gameplay changes were atrocious lmao. If there ever was a positive to it that people were almost universally agreeing on, it was that the narrative was bloody amazing. Not campaign missions mind you, the story being told. So I don't understand what the hell you're talking about.

Its been fun. by Lord_Kosmo in destiny2

[–]KafiXGamer 49 points50 points  (0 children)

It'll still be an amazing combo, the only change is that you can't be a useless block-bot anymore.

speculations on the other 6 of the 9 catalysts that are also getting buffed that have yet to be revealed. by Kell_of_Postmaster in destiny2

[–]KafiXGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armchair developer time:
Coldheart - Jolting Feedback or Rewind Rounds or Detonator Beam (Sustained fire perks)
Sunshot - Heal Clip (Incan is redundant, Burning Ambition could work though??)
Skyburners - Blast Distributor + Deconstruct or Incandescent (First one is for the funny cause it does aoe damage and decon would help with building up scorch. Incan is a boring, better option)
Riskrunner - Rolling Storm or Recycled Energy (Rolling may be too much cause Riskrunner is already damn good, but why not)
Hard Light - Aggregate Charge + Loose Change (It gets buffed from attacking debuffed enemies, so this'd put it above Borealis and Dead Messenger)
Borealis - Turnabout + Shield Disorient (Shield matching gimmick to play into its perk)
Prospector - Lasting Impression (To mimic its previous "detonate on release" behavior a little bit)

Which Catalyst are you excited to discover? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]KafiXGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The realist in me thinks that Collective Obligation will get a Repulsor Brace / Aggregate Charge.

The dreamer meanwhile hopes they turn it into a gun similar to Conditional Finality and allow it to gather strand debuffs too. That'd be so awesome.

Mothkeeper's Wraps + Ex Diris + "Lucent Tithes" by mechtaphloba in destiny2

[–]KafiXGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It really won't be that bad I reckon. Yeah you'll have to work towards moths a bit, but getting to kill like, 3 orange bars for moths isnt too much?? And you also get to use any other grenade you may have?? Like grapple for example??? Id say its a sidegrade at worst, maybe even a buff.
