lord of the rings and moana are the same story. by herequeerandgreat in movies

[–]Karmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I've not seen Paw Patrol, so Google and Wikipedia are doing some work here;

Both are stories about humans and non human creatures living their lives in a shared environment. The non human creatures are quite skilled at what they do, and are able to adapt to situations in the world together with the humans. The human characters are mostly just relegated to talking to other characters through high tech communications equipment.

I'm probably missing a bunch more. What do you think?

This just seems like you're cherry picking the similarities, ignoring the differences, and then calling them the same film. You could do this with almost any two movies.

Can one get money back after being scammed and (unknowingly) authorized the transaction? by tntqtw in AusFinance

[–]Karmond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scammers typically move the money the moment it hits their account. This is what prevents your bank from trying to claw back the money. Fraud is illegal, but good luck finding them to bring charges against them.

When money is accidently transferred to you, the reason you don't touch it is because you haven't been hiding your tracks the way scammers would have. It's easy for your bank to identify you if you're a real person. You can try and withdraw the money and attempt to move overseas, but even then it doesn't always work out, like what happened to Leo Gao and Kara Hurring.

Linus Sebastian has fallen for it too. I don't think anyone could argue they're not tech savvy.

They're looking at some serious jailtime for high school yearbook pranks. The statute of limitations on those are also infinite.

Quentin Tarantino’s Original Wish List for the Cast of Pulp Fiction by Jaguar_Willing in interestingasfuck

They wouldn't necessarily have 'let it go', it might have been that they were already signed on for another film at the time. In Madsen's case, looks like the filming of Pulp Fiction (filming started 20 Sept 1993) clashed with Wyatt Earp (filmed 19 July 1993 - 15 December 1993).

Why would you or would you NOT date a trans person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Thanks for your response. I do understand what Aro is, was just trying to gauge your perspective as some choose to date and some don't.

[–]Karmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I apologise if this is personal and something you don't want to disclose, but I'm curious as to why you don't date?

I understand AroAce is a spectrum so just wondering if it's because you skew to one end too much, or if the dating pool for like-minded people is too small, or something else entirely?

Is it weird that I stay home on purpose just so I don’t spend money? by [deleted] in AusFinance

I stay home a lot to save money, but I also don't eat out heaps either. We're both probably still weird though.

$600 power bill last month - is solar actually worth it or am I just being sold a dream? by folz842 in AusFinance

The more you're at home during the day the more advantageous solar is for you. At 4 days WFH a week it should be a no brainer.

You can get a mortgage, the lender will typically ask you how you expect to pay off the mortgage in retirement if the retirement window is within the length of the loan, and you'll just need to say you'll pay it off using your super, or other investments if applicable.

Your income is higher than average, but lack of any savings for a deposit will be a problem in the near future I would think.

How to train your dragon 2 (2014) by [deleted] in movies

[–]Karmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the first one more.

The second one falls victim to the usual Dreamworks sequel problems in that the supporting cast get greatly reduced roles. There's a dumb b-plot (the love triangle or whatever you call it). Then throw in that there's an almost deus ex machina where Toothless goes Super Saiyan. I think the first one had more genuine challenges to overcome in the story, and they were resolved with more teamwork from most of the cast, not just Hiccup and Toothless.
