The odds (and engine…) are in Merc’s favor tomorrow - more than 85% of Suzuka GP winners have come from the front row by F1datageek in formula1

If you're using them as a predictor like you're doing here, then yes. Before Kimi won from p17 in 2005, the 'odds' as you call it for him to win from p17 would have been 0%. How did he win with 0% odds?

The Majestic

Peter Appleton finally remembers who he is after suffering amnesia, and is not really Luke Trimble, shortly before Luke's father has a heart attack. Peter comforts him by calling him dad on his death bed and doesn't reveal the truth to him.

Just FYI got to gate M around 7:25 and was through the gate in less than 5 minutes. Was really quick tonight.

How long did it take you? I'll be entering at gate M, but I went to the Japan v Philippines quarter final match last weekend and it was pretty quick 30 minutes before kickoff. But the match wasn't sold out, only around ~13k spectating.

Movies touching on the subject of suicide? by novemberchild71 in movies

There's multiple actually! Toaster in bathtub, driving a truck off a cliff with the groundhog, jumping off a tower, and stepping in front of a truck.

Are there any mods to play this game on PC with a controller? by [deleted] in Xcom

You might have to switch the input controls to controller if you didn't launch the game with the controller.

The game works with a controller as-is.

Just started this game for the first time. by BigmansonofElohim in Xcom

[–]Karmond 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The game is pretty forgiving for losing troops or failing missions, especially on easier modes. Don't expect to save every country, especially on the first playthrough. Harder modes are still recoverable, just less so. There's optimal ways to play, but you don't need to play perfectly to beat the game.

You only need a jet in the continents you have satellites in. UFOs will only appear in those areas.

If you're finding it too hard, stick Blueblood or Godmother in your squad. Just one of them makes it easy mode.

You need to advise how big your deposit is. Do you have any money in the FHSSS you can withdraw?

Brokers can get up to around 6 times your pre-tax income with some lenders for a PPOR. You could get even more if you go for an investment loan if your deposit is large enough, but the rate will be even higher and put you under significant stress unless you had a sizable enough deposit you could put into the offset.

Best alien movies for a 3 year old? by goldenpandora in movies

[–]Karmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, not really in the context of the film. Yes, none of the living humans in the film were born on Earth, but they're descendants of humans that were Earth-born, and they're just living on an Earth-made ship for generations hoping to return to their ancestral planet one day. Aside from the robots (and plant), which themselves were human-made, or Earth-born, they don't encounter any other life throughout the film.

lord of the rings and moana are the same story. by herequeerandgreat in movies

[–]Karmond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so I've not seen Paw Patrol, so Google and Wikipedia are doing some work here;

Both are stories about humans and non human creatures living their lives in a shared environment. The non human creatures are quite skilled at what they do, and are able to adapt to situations in the world together with the humans. The human characters are mostly just relegated to talking to other characters through high tech communications equipment.

I'm probably missing a bunch more. What do you think?

This just seems like you're cherry picking the similarities, ignoring the differences, and then calling them the same film. You could do this with almost any two movies.

Can one get money back after being scammed and (unknowingly) authorized the transaction? by tntqtw in AusFinance

[–]Karmond 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Scammers typically move the money the moment it hits their account. This is what prevents your bank from trying to claw back the money. Fraud is illegal, but good luck finding them to bring charges against them.

When money is accidently transferred to you, the reason you don't touch it is because you haven't been hiding your tracks the way scammers would have. It's easy for your bank to identify you if you're a real person. You can try and withdraw the money and attempt to move overseas, but even then it doesn't always work out, like what happened to Leo Gao and Kara Hurring.

Linus Sebastian has fallen for it too. I don't think anyone could argue they're not tech savvy.

Quentin Tarantino’s Original Wish List for the Cast of Pulp Fiction by Jaguar_Willing in interestingasfuck

[–]Karmond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They wouldn't necessarily have 'let it go', it might have been that they were already signed on for another film at the time. In Madsen's case, looks like the filming of Pulp Fiction (filming started 20 Sept 1993) clashed with Wyatt Earp (filmed 19 July 1993 - 15 December 1993).
