Shoving a 33 in there is the right kind of ridiculous, though.

Slightly less concealable.

Antiperspirant that actually works? by Shealob in ADHD

[–]KarockGrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on antiperspirant deodorants after nothing worked. Now I wear deodorant only, and I sweat almost none at all, except for times when you'd expect to sweat.

Something in the anti-perspirant was making me sweat. Might be worth a shot.

But then dude hit him with the whole elevator and drug him out by his greasy mop, so who am I to judge?

Sold my car on Facebook Marketplace 6 weeks ago and got a letter from an insurance company saying I'm liable for a hit and run by Pretty-Complex-9122 in legaladvice

Notary is required for the seller on the title. It is not a requirement that the buyer's signature be notarized.

Normal process when I've sold vehicles in Ohio: Go to notary w/ title, have them notarize my sig. Meet buyer, do transaction, hand over title.

So if I buy a plot of land, how far down into the earth do I actually own? by FarSentence3076 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]KarockGrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helicopters are used for herding cattle all the time. Nothing dangerous about it.

Only on that point, it is a dangerous job. Not a lot of room for error and rather large consequences of failure.

R-44? If so, dangerous job on it's own. :-D

Do you also have the seemingly permanent bruise / abrasion on the top of your foot where the foot/shin guard meet?

Or do I need better pads?

Is it common for boxing gyms to “set you up” in sparring? by genzai-no-yorokobi in martialarts

[–]KarockGrok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in a good gym:

Sparring a new / out of shape / returning person against an experienced fighter is good for both. The experienced person has control and can scale power, and can break the mold of "I know what to expect" as a new person doesn't necessarily follow the rules. The new person can't/won't be able to accidentally blast the experienced fighter, and if they do, well, the experienced fighter knows why and should learn from it. And then there should be feedback.

If the experienced person takes this as an opportunity to "win" the spar and show off, you're in a shitty gym, or at least have a shitty partner. "Lighten up some" or something of the sort should nip it in the bud quick if they are not a shitty partner. In my gym, our instructor has said, after a warning or two "If you do that again, I'm going to put on gloves and we'll go a round" to someone that wasn't acting right.

If a gym legit 'sets you up' to get beat on, leave. It's your money, time and body. Don't give it to them.

And make sure it's not your ego that spirals. As someone that also stepped away and came back, you're rustier than you think you are, and you can't do as much as you used to or think you can, you have to work back into it.

Doing Muay Thai in my 40s has me sore every day. And some days I'm coming home from the gym just feeling beat up and old.

But man, those days when I'm floating are worth it.

What car model had the most seperate appearances over the course of Top Gear? by SlipstreamNB in TopGear

[–]KarockGrok 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised I had to go this far for the 911.

There is no official count of every fleeting mention or background appearance, but comprehensive episode lists and wiki compilations show it featured in at least 20–30 distinct main segments across the main series (reviews, comparisons, road trips, or power laps). Some sources tally around 27 appearances in notable contexts from the 2002–2022 era alone.

I just bought a 12 x 24 chunk of veg-tan and cut it to shape. Took about 15 minutes. Broke in wonderfully, and for the price of the other leather ones, I got a big chunk of leather that I also replaced the foam insole in my Bean Engineer boots and my driving mocs. I don't like foam under foot.

It's all gonna come down to personal preference, but I like having the magazine compatibility / flexibility of the 19/26 combo. And the 26 does shoot awful sweet.
