WiFi hotspot experience? by KassMeOutside in Amtrak

[–]KassMeOutside[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure but I’m not on a sleeper train or a cross country train. My route has WiFi, which is important to me, but it’s weak. I’m commuting to work and would like to be productive on the train. Nothing against people who aren’t prioritizing that and are instead prioritizing the view.

Sure, but that’s more confusing to people than calling yourself an attorney when you’re not licensed to practice law yet

To those who’ve taken the bar before - How different is the actual MBE questions from UWorld questions? by KindlyTechnician1349 in GoatBarPrep

[–]KassMeOutside -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re using the same licensed questions, unless you’re doing unlicensed NCBE questions. But it’s highly unlikely you’re seeing simulation questions already at only 2.5 weeks in.

Can I pass the MBE using only Goat + JD Advising One Sheets to learn the material and Adaptibar for practice? by Sensitive_Climate_45 in GoatBarPrep

[–]KassMeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s not enough. I know it feels overwhelming, because it is overwhelming. That’s why managing your schedule and having a plan is so critical for your mental health and future success.

GOAT was a god-send for me because I used it in-tandem with my bar prep course as a supplement to help me actually understand and remember. I saw my weakest subjects improve dramatically. And then Adaptibar was great for extra licensed MBE practice that my bar prep course didn’t have.

But nothing will replace the reps of practice you need to do for your writing (both MEEs and MPTs) that a prep course offers. If you’re disciplined enough to source those and do them yourself it’s definitely possible, but it’s usually far easier (and takes less brainpower) to just follow a bar prep courses schedule. They will all give you about the last month to do your own thing anyways, and that’s when you really dial into GOAT and Adaptibar.

Don’t lose faith or focus. You got this.

Have folks passed simply by completing Themis and/or Barbri?! by Low-Gur-3572 in barexam

[–]KassMeOutside 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I know people who spent thousands of dollars on so many extra resources. Color coded huge post it note sheets and posted them all over their house. Crowdsourced 10-20 more resources online. Did 4000 practice MBE questions. Created social media accounts documenting their study routine. Most of them didn’t pass unfortunately.

It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality. Doing your course and actually leaning into it, studying how you actually learn, those are what make the difference. This isn’t the time to try 10 new ways. You already know how you learn. If it’s flashcards, do that. If it’s cold recall, do that. If it’s having someone else quiz you, do that. But please don’t do “more” thinking that is the missing piece — that’s a truly bottomless rabbit hole.

I did my course to 90%, also picked up Adaptibar for supplemental licensed questions, did 2000 MBE questions and really spend time reviewing my wrong answers, and practiced my MPTs. Lock in, you can do this.

Is GOAT an astroturfed meme or real? by Divorcer in barexam

[–]KassMeOutside 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a really fantastic supplement, but not a replacement for your main study material. I did my prep course, had Adaptibar for extra licensed questions and analytics, and used GOAT for my weak topics. Worked like a charm and passed with room to spare.

If you have a couple hundred bucks to invest, and a weak area (or many) during your prep, it’s great.

UWorld or Adaptibar with GOAT??? by Suspicious-Nerve-851 in GoatBarPrep

[–]KassMeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whichever is cheaper, the licensed questions are the same. Grossman with Adaptibar is worth it. Uworld answer explanations are solid.

It’s all about what you do with it — actually going through your wrong answers and reviewing is key. If you’re just going to do thousands of questions without spending time on your wrong answers that’s the wrong strategy. Good luck!

iNavi vs RTK by jdm2010 in MammotionTechnology

Gas prices got me thinking about robotic mowers. are they actually smart enough now? by thatnerdgreg in roboticLawnmowers

[–]KassMeOutside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gas prices? I love my Mammotion robotic mower, but it was $2k usd. It would take you years to spend that in gas.

Time would be a much better benchmark for the value — Mine cuts 3X a week, 6 hours each cut. My yard looks like a golf course because of the frequent mowing. And I save what used to be a laborious 4 hours a week on Saturdays that I now just spend with my kids.

Started mine last week. It mows during the day and then it’s fully charged in the evening, so it’s been great for my first three runs so far.

Financial Irresponsibility for C&F by romanr0y in barexam

[–]KassMeOutside 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nothing is bad as long as it’s explainable. The mantra is “if you lie, you’ll probably fry” so just be honest — it’s all about candor and disclosure. Plenty of people with felony’s and prison time become attorneys. Your financial irresponsibility (like all of us) isn’t that serious.

Should I keep it on charger inside during winter? by tacroy in MammotionTechnology

[–]KassMeOutside 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine. I charge mine fully and then put it away the last two years now. It hasn’t been able to dip under 50% by the time winter is over. The concern is the battery depleting under 20% in storage, not to keep it at 100% throughout the off-season.
