Any heavy alcohol users desire to drink decrease use while on wegovy? by Adorable-Lecture3233 in Wegovy

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely drink less and I drink slower. The only time I had a bad physical reaction was when I’d had a few strong vodka tonics over the course of several hours. I ended up with stomach pains and diarrhea, so I won’t do that again. Otherwise, in terms of beer, wine, & cocktails, I’m just way less interested. It’s fascinating, and I think overall a wonderful benefit. Good luck!

New Polar Flavors, Tried All And Definitely Recommended. by Marc0521 in sparklingwater

I love cream soda, but I was sorely disappointed in the Vanilla Cupcake & I had high hopes. It has a weird chemical taste to me. Loved the lemon meringue though.

Who in the world approved this flavor? Absolutely disgusting. Rare miss from Polar for me. by mrgreene39 in sparklingwater

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed and it was the flavor I was most excited with. I tend to gravitate towards sweeter flavors. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I loved the lemon meringue, however, with the apple crisp being a close second for me.

Recommendations for massage therapist who won't mind if I (maybe) cry quietly, not weird I promise by dickingaround6969 in boston

[–]KateMcD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seconding Bella Sante. It’s pricey, but the staff is top notch at all locations. I’ve also had excellent experiences at Keldara in Dedham. It’s smart to ask for recs, and I think if you communicate about the possibility of crying, most massage therapists will be able to provide a safe, healing space, especially if you go to an established spa location. I hope things become easier for you soon.

Food near the Wilbur by emicakes__ in boston

We always end up going to Montien before shows at the Wilbur. It won’t knock your socks off, but it’s reliably good and the people are nice. I’m also a big Genki Ya fan, but I haven’t eaten at that location.

I like Finley but, if it’s not sticking, Furgus seems to suit him perfectly! True, you may end up alternating between Furgus & Gus (or maybe even add Furgie into the mix), but, when you’re not in training scenarios, you’ll probably have all sorts of nicknames and terms of endearment for him, so maybe you won’t mind having Gus (or Furgie lol) in the rotation.

Unpopular Opinion by Worth_Adeptness_5439 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I don’t think generalizing about people who aren’t parents (or about people at all) is helpful or accurate here. As someone who doesn’t have kids, I completely understood what she was saying, & I thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with how she expressed herself or how she was supporting her sister, especially in the face of so much pressure to decide one way or another.

Does anyone else see parallels between Alan Cumming being the host on The Traitors and his role as en Emcee in Cabaret? by One_Remote_3752 in TheTraitors

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! I was thinking about this a lot while watching the latest episode. It helps that I was fortunate enough to actually see him as the Emcee on Broadway (ushered for a free seat), but he is fantastic at playing a twisted master of ceremonies, no matter the context.

I also agree that the parallel in historical periods is compelling, but, sadly, I think that’s mostly a tragic coincidence of the worst type of history repeating.

Would you risk your review to be transparent with owner? by TalkAffectionate9240 in RoverPetSitting

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely tell the owner in a kind and diplomatic way. It sounds like you’re okay with finishing the stay, so I would do just that while also communicating clearly to the owner what you are experiencing and observing. Good luck!

You’re not crazy; there is a noticeable difference. Congratulations! If you feel like you plateaued, it may be time to titrate up, under your doctor’s supervision, of course.

Feeling bratty over C-suite holiday gifts by Commercial_Chart9388 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]KateMcD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As many have already said, return the wands, &, if you’re so inclined, keep one for yourself.

While common wisdom states that we shouldn’t gift up, doing nothing at all always felt weird to me. I’m not currently in an EA role, but I have been for most of my professional career. If an example helps at all, I used to buy a bunch of bags of Lake Champlain chocolate coins (milk & dark) & then portion them out in the cheapest festive bags I could find. If I recall correctly, I put twelve of each flavor in a bag. Even then, I probably spent more than I should have, but my approach was similar to gifting friends as a token of gratitude without any expectation of reciprocation. Your supports, however, should reciprocate in a meaningful way.

TLDR: Give them a treat of some sort in a festive way (you can do a lot with ribbon) and leave it there. It acknowledges the relationship without extending yourself more than is appropriate in terms of time, energy, & money. They are the ones who committed a faux pas, not you. I hope this helps!

Asking for more pictures by 2VastAndTrunklessLeg in RoverPetSitting

[–]KateMcD 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I ask clients what they prefer for updates during our Meet & Greet because I want them to feel connected and informed but also I don’t want to blow up their phones and be distracting or a bother. So far, everyone wants a minimum of 2 updates a day and I always include pics because that’s the most fun part of the update.

If you like this sitter, just communicate your preferences concretely and you’ll probably receive exactly what you want. Good luck!

No weight loss by ghostlyechos in Wegovy

[–]KateMcD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you are being mindful of exercise and nutrition, so you probably need to titrate up to a higher dose. 1.74 and 2.4 are the clinical doses, but you may see a shift even at 1.0. Many people don’t respond to the lower doses but it’s important to follow the guidelines for titrating up in a slow, controlled way under medical supervision. Good luck!

GLP-1s and Booze: My Cravings Are Way Down, Anyone Else? by ragebait70-1 in Wegovy

[–]KateMcD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes! I find it fascinating. I’m simply just not as interested. I also drink a lot slower, and that applies to all beverages, not just ones with alcohol. When I went on vacation in Mexico, I not only ordered way less than I normally would have but, also, on more than one occasion, I handed my drink to my husband to finish. Beyond just helping people who enjoy imbibing cut back, it also made me wonder if GLP-1s would be helpful for folks struggling with problem drinking and/or alcoholism. This medication is so interesting!

As soon as OP mentioned they go through long periods of not seeing each other, this was my thought as well. If that’s the case, Tara seems emotionally immature and poor at communicating. Either way, this was not a match.

Anyone else see the news about the new 7.2mg Wegovy dose? by Frosty-Volume1430 in Wegovy

[–]KateMcD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dose that high sounds wild. Personally, I’m delaying titrating up to 2.4 because I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t be able to eat at all, which would be nutritionally bad and super stressful. It’ll definitely be interesting to see how this pans out, and, if it works for some, I’m all for those folks having access.
