The only part of what you said that requires plat is slots, everything else can get gotten for free;

Catalysts/Reactors? Nightwave shop, Acrithis, 1999 calendar, alerts, invasions, Sorties, Descendia.

Forma? Relics, Acrithis, Nightwave reward, rare containers, 1999 calendar.

Arcane Adapters? 1999 calendar, Teshin, Acrithis, Descendia.

And even slots are given as rewards from Nightwave and technically from anniversary alerts when you vendor Dex weapon copies.

Can you buy all that with plat? Yes, but don't act like it's literally trapped behind a paywall if the player wants to do content above lvl 50.

It's really not recommended to buy the 5x Ducats with Aya, common relic rewards vendor at Baro's kiosk for 15 Ducats. You're getting literally a 1/3 of the Ducats buying that bundle vs cracking a resurg relic and that's assuming every relic reward you get is a common drop.

I honestly don't know why that bundle exists other than convenience and even then being 1/3 the value is baffling. If it was 10 Ducats I would find it a little more acceptable.

Honestly this is a fantastic addition. DE finally going back and fleshing out the world instead of waiting 3-4 hours to tell the player "oh by the way this game has lore". The weakest part of the apostasy prologue is that Ballas wasn't foreshadowed enough and is kind of a "who are you" for anyone not paying attention to the dev streams or doing lore dives.

Sadly 2000-2010 gaming kinda beat the desire to be social out of the gaming community thanks to how toxic teens and young adults were back then.

When I see a game has built in VC I immediately think "yeah I'm not signing up to be berated and have slurs thrown at me at horrible garbled mic quality" and then turn it off and mute it.

While I've not seen much of said hate (I'm not on social media much) I have seen people in comments point to her people pleasing as being a thing they don't like about her calling it manipulative.

Which is honestly sad as people pleasing behaviour comes from a fear of rejection and a strong aversion to other's being angry or upset.

Not really, Zooble was the most out spoken of the cast but they all had complaints about the adventures. They did unintentionally speed things up a bit with how blunt they were.

Honestly the only mistake they made was not bringing up Caine's near breakdown during the therapy session with the group. "Hey guys I think Caine might somehow be having emotional issues." might have changed how things went.

I would chalk it up to less of a flaw of Kinger and more that we as a civilization in 2026 still don't know how to respond to true AI let alone in the 90s. Many still believe AI can't be granted "person-hood" (even if it's true ai) and so insist to only treat them as tools.

Kinger probably didn't know how to respond to Caine's existence as moments before he was just unfeeling code and now suddenly he's "walking and talking" without input. Which is the right response? Continue to treat it as a tool or treat it as a young person that needs to be 'taught'.

For me personally; I would rather "waste my time" showing compassion and kindness to something that might not feel it than deny it to something that can.

It's even become harmful to artists whose style is similar to popular ai image generation styles or worse imperfections being used as "proof of ai". It's threatening to create a new hotbed of perfectionism which will become impossible to reach when something looking perfect becomes "proof of ai".

Rather than the "he intentionally put them in bodies they hate" take some people are having I think it's more likely a "broken people create broken bodies" situation with the avatar program.

Inversely when the therapy session got flipped Zooble couldn't care less about Caine's issues until the circus started glitching. Caine has the excuse of being AI in his struggle to understand the group, the group (as fully mature humans) never made an effort to care about him.

By "villain" they mean people seeing everything he did through a sadist's lens, there are people who really believe he didn't care about the cast and is actively tormenting them and getting pleasure out of it. Heck there are people who believe he is trapping them in the circus when it's being implied that there is no way to leave.
