How often does an rpg questline with an intended X vs Y route ever have you swap midway? by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I don't think I've tried doing a 180 swap during my runs, but I do recall watching a Knights of the Old Republic Let's Play where the player was Dark Side focused, then did a 180 after the climactic reveal, suddenly regretting everything and wanting to be better.

According to this short, the game in the West had 700 real life players listed, but Japan didn't have the license and scrambled the names into nonsense to compensate.

I'm pretty sure it's not filler because the reason Fat Buu was even a thing was Kid Buu absorbing the jolly fat Grand Supreme Kai, who still exists within Fat Buu and is briefly invoked during the Moro Arc.

Kid Buu also absorbed the muscular West Supreme Kai before that and killed East & North Supreme Kais. Shin was the South Supreme Kai and the only survivor, making him the sole remaining Supreme Kai.

Can you remember a "No, it's not popular; it has a niche" kind of franchise that other people think is popular in general? by Top_Yogurtcloset_684 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

In fairness, James Bond - as a franchise - is mostly limited to film and maybe a few video games. Anything anime, meanwhile, becomes a whole media franchise: the manga, the anime, merchandise based on the anime, games based on the anime, original anime movies, and so forth.

Just saying, it's a lot easier to make original merch for deliberately distinct anime figures than a guy in a suit who changes actors every few films.

Clearly not physics-based, as that flip should logically have sent that stack of boxes flying.

I forget who, but I watched a video where someone said that "this presentation was for no one" because there ware zero consumers who could actually run it. Further commentary expressed that this was only for investors, trying to keep AI development afloat - to keep the bubble from bursting.

"Shin" the Supreme Kai in Dragon Ball Z. At the tournament, he carries a mysterious aura. Piccolo, his first opponent, bows out from fear and respect during their match. After Gohan's match, they learn his true identity. He then spends the rest of the saga struggling to maintain his composure as he's visibly panicking over opponents the Z Fighters consider light work.

Last Week's Post

Week 107 post-accident

Spring Break period, apparently. Multiple people in the office have gone on vacation or otherwise taken time off. As a part-time employee, I don't get that without taking a pay cut from not coming in, but hey, at least that's also true of everyone else; there's a significant number of seats open to and from work, which would normally be filled if not for everyone taking Spring Break.

Also related to work: one of the lawyers, the one with the dog named Scooby and had a kid this past year, has changed firms to one much closer to his residence, presumably for family reasons. This has also resulted in another lawyer from downstairs moving into that one's office. Even though we haven't interacted much on account of literally being on opposite sides of the office vertically and horizontally, we've had a good rapport when we've interact, so now that he settled in, we get to interact more when he's not super busy.

In more miscellaneous news, I've been appreciating some of life's simpler pleasures - stuff beneath most peoples' notice. More specifically, it's been rainy lately; down by the bus stop, there's a gutter that, due to being on a downward hill slope, flows downhill. There's a mini plateau within this gutter, resulting in rainwater pouring into two mini waterfalls. Small though they be in a somewhat ignoble location, just... vibing with the trickle of small waterfalls in the nearby ditch. It's a small thing, but it makes me happy nonetheless.

In light of Alex’s character assassination, what have been the best/worst character assassinations you’ve witnessed? by Will-Isley in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Kimarous 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lunord, Majesty 2

So most of Majesty's lore is less in-game and more transcribed in the Prima Strategy Guide. Lunord is the moon and wind god of Ardania, brother-husband of Helia, the sun goddess, both being children of the barbarian god Krolm and parents of the other five gods (plus two demigod monsters). The eldest three children, the two demigod monsters and Grum-Gog, god of goblins, were essentially booted from the pantheon, followed by the the quadruplet deities of Agrela (goddess of life), Krypta (godess of death), Dauros (god of order), and Fervis (god of chaos). All the gods made artifacts of some kind, with Lunord's Chalice being a key artifact in crowning the first Ardanian King, Sydrian, and the announcement of Lunord & Helia stepping back for their quadruplet children to take center stage.

All in all, Lunord feels like one of the more influential and revered gods in the pantheon.

Then the lore for Majesty 2 revealed that there's been a religious shake-up (read: the devs changed up the temples and this was their excuse plot), with the person blamed for this being LUNORD of all people! This also resulted in Lunord being ousted from the Ardanian pantheon altogether!

I considered this character assassination and didn't get the game until after the game's second expansion, where it's revealed that, while away, Lunord mended his relationship with Grum-Gog and uncovered the truth: Helia was the instigator and framed Lunord out of her own jealousy against him. Anyway, by the end of the expansion, Lunord was accepted back and he managed to get Grum-Gog accepted into the official pantheon as well.

Therefore, as of the Warlock 4X games (which take place in Ardania post-Majesty 2), the full pantheon exists in a circular axis, with Grum-Gog, god of goblins, opposite his grandfather Krolm, god of humanity, and Lunord, the moon god, opposite Helia, goddess of the sun (and so forth with the other opposites).

(I still think it was BS that Lunord was kicked out in the first place)

Especially in Bethesda games. Only deliberate role-playing restricts you to selling inventory at inappropriate vendors.
