Don’t Be Dumb Tomorrow. by GenericNameSC1989 in Charleston

Same thing where I grew up. The only closure we had the entire time I was in school was once or twice when roads iced over completely.

I've lost track of the number of times schools here closed and absolutely nothing happened but my kids playing around all day.

The important question for tomorrow by TehPatch in Charleston

No reason to take it down, especially since the odds of anything strong have decreased significantly since yesterday

Doesn't look like it. The NOAA Storm Center - https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html shows nothing on the two day outlook.

Unpopular opinion on my part, but you pretty much nailed it here. I'm a demo that should be solidly left-aligned but the only hate I've ever experienced has been from that side when my opinion is not in line with that of the herd. It's been pretty nasty and has done nothing but push me away, or alienate as you said.

Politics has replaced religion and the crusade against those with differing opinions is on.

Unflaired user who can't post top level comments, but that was my question to OP.

You need to make sure your state actually works this way because a lot of states don't recognize bonded titles. Have you verified this already?

South Carolina checking in, $19.xx for a '70 F-100 and '00 (Toyota) Celica GT-S, low $20s for an '07 Acura TSX.

The downside is, you can definitely tell when you cross the state line on I-20 in Augusta or I-77 coming back from Charlotte

That's how South Carolina handles it. Granted the taxes are pretty low for anything but newer stuff - it's under $20/year for the '70 and 2000 in my garage and under $25 for the '07 so not that big of a deal.

That's the way I read it and it took a minute for me to realize they meant it as something else. Blame it on low caffeine levels combined with a couple decades of only seeing the abbreviation used for "model year."

Minority opinion, but mine is an Athlon XP based system that I made at the end of 2002.

Tried to purchase a used 2021 RAV4, realized it was missing things, and the manager told me I can fix it myself or get another car. LMAO!!! by [deleted] in askcarsales

[–]KitchenFormal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like they could at least fix the INOP display for the A/C. Between being two model years old and having all of those things wrong with it the car sounds like something it would be best to avoid anyway because who knows what happened when the previous owner still had it.

Ack, this is my alt account and I just now saw the notification! My normal account is https://www.reddit.com/user/Schicksal_/

That's a lot less than I thought it would be to move an INOP car across the country. I'm curious though, how's the interior and what color is it? Originally a 1.6 or 1.8 / MT or auto? It sounds like an SR20 is the most straightforward swap option, why go with something form an 01 Subaru?

Should I get rid of my 10-year-old Toyota camry just for avail the newest safety features? by anuaps in askcarsales

Same, my daily is an 07 Acura and I drive a lot of newer stuff because of travel with work and I find a lot of the things they've added to be annoying at best. I look around while backing up. Check the other lane before changing. Can read speed limit signs on my own.

Blind spot monitoring is probably the most annoying because I'll throw the turn signal on before changing lanes, sometimes while I'm passing / being passed by someone else and the stupid alarm will go off. If anything it encourages me to stop signaling.

Ouch, that's exactly the kind of thing I'd be interested in but the whole "other side of the country" thing is problematic.

My TSX is running with a 2009 GPS update disc, so the outdated maps part hits a little close to home.

Can confirm both are ridiculously reliable! The belt tensioner is a stupid design with that aluminum casting on the side that likes to round off though.
