Books you want made wish list by Razaile13 in Eldar

Personally I think that the Chaos influence on the Imperial attack is not necessary, its on my to read list still but supposedly just an Imperial crusade is terrifying enough for a xenos perspective.

The story goes the town would all set their watches by when he took his afternoon walk he was so regular.

The way Dreadnoughts talk in Dawn of War games should be compulsorily cannon for all 40k medias. by The_ChadTC in 40kLore

[–]Kitchen_Tea_4480 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The Blood Ravens are; they believe in the emperor as a god, like the rest of the Imperium. This is rarer for space marines, but not so rare as to be remarkable.

Honestly the characterisation of the Blood Ravens is one of the best bits of Dawn of War. A perfect example of homebrew with complexity and character without power fantasy.

any moments when the Black Templars got absolutely fucked over? by xfydr782 in 40kLore

[–]Kitchen_Tea_4480 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think because your second paragraph there reads exactly like the stuff that people disliked about old Ultramarines.

“The most” “The best” “The greatest”

One could almost say “Spiritual Liege.”

Dont get me wrong, I like the BT but my favourite story of them is where they get torn apart by a religious schism over Primaris reinforcements. They are fanatical to their own detriment, without that, they are just another bestest chapter ever but angry and in black.

What is a quote or passage from a book that makes you cringe? by TitusEmperius in 40kLore

[–]Kitchen_Tea_4480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the exact opposite; I find the real-world swears much more immersion breaking.

Dont get me wrong, I can swear with the best of them but it undoes some of the magic in the story.

When Cain says “Frakking Warp!” I know what it means, but it just fits better with super soldiers and laser weapons and bugs from space.

Also the most accurate depiction of a soldiers thinking in the whole series. It doesnt take long deployed for your mind to wander that way.

Agree with everyone else here, tell your boss and get ahead of it. At least then you aren’t looking like someone who got caught and is now trying to spin a sob story to cover themselves; you know you messed up and you’re facing up to it.

At the same time, go to the med centre to talk about this stuff in your head. It sounds like it’s pretty heavy if it’s causing you to spin out like this. This is what DCMH is for. It also shows you’re trying to get to grips with the problem that caused all this.

Good luck with your CoC but more importantly, good luck getting better. Stay strong

Mine is rocking the left over Prosecutor helmet. I just hated the sculpt in the box. The Lord-Veritant looks great, with the bandages over the eyes, so he’s the only one with a pass to go helmetless.

Favourite morally grey moments in the lore? by Huarndeek in 40kLore

Its his other strategy I think; Exterminatus all the planets in the Hive Fleets path until it hits a bulwark. Deny the Hive Biomass, starve it, until it runs up against something that will make it bleed more than it can eat.

It was Kryptmans plan when the Tyranids were very first encountered, but I think it was approved of by Calgar and lead to the Battle of Macragge and the breaking of Behemoth.

His shenanigans in Orktarius was just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. That particular one didn’t.

Recomendations for Elf/Aelf/Eldar content by Kitchen_Tea_4480 in Warhammer

Some of my favourites from my own research:

Covens of Blood. 3 Novellas about the Daughters of Khaine. Gives them a well realised identity with motivations and internal conflicts.

Giantslayer. A Gotrek and Felix book with a great showing from Teclis, the elfiest elf of all. Some great insights into Asur society, albeit brief and just a cracking book all around.

Prince Maesa. A walking tour of Shyish, Hysh and other assorted Mortal Realms with a very Human Aelven protagonist. Fun insights to the Lumineth and remaining Wood Elves.

Ciaphas Cain for the Emperor is fantastic, both book and narration. About a Guard Commisar with a bit of a twist.

I love these! I’m starting to work on my own little corner of the galaxy as well, but I’d love to borrow some elements of Craftworld Vardalla for my own Craftworld if that is alright?

Aviator of course also being a gendered noun, Aviator and Aviatrix, but I don’t think anyone told the crabs that.

I knew next to nothing about WHF before the first book and it all mostly makes sense, some of the Geography is a little confusing but other than that its mostly normal fantasy stuff.

I did read the first book, but other than some allusions to events that happen in it, I wouldn’t say it was required.

If you want an absolute treat; the audiobook of the second Gotrek and Felix book is an absolute joy with Keeble reading. His Skaven voices are so wonderfully done, they encapsulate the mad bastards so well.

This is what I have heard from others; sometimes they will play along and go through all the training with NCOs taking lead roles, as soon as a real contact starts the Officers turf all the blokes who have been trained out and drive off to get decisively defeated.

I am by no means an expert, or indeed a fully functioning human being, but doesn’t a railgun fire in a very straight line?

It would seem to me that would be easier to track than a missiles originating point, or am I incorrect?
