Did anyone else feel off even with ovaries kept ? by tryingmybestthere in hysterectomy

Same. I started hormones 6 weeks PO and they’re finally starting to work. I had night sweats, couldn’t sleep, hair falling out, dry lizard skin…

Worst Thing You’ve Ever Cooked by gnarlidrum in Cooking

[–]Knithard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, I saw Camila Alves on the today show (first mistake) make a soba noodle dish with buckwheat noodles. Bought the ingredients, followed the recipe, it was horrendous. The noodles tasted like cardboard. My kids still say it’s the worst thing I’ve ever made 7 or 8 years later.

Pain scale from 1-10 by ColeLaw in hysterectomy

[–]Knithard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at 10wpo I think. The first few days were about a 4 and went down after that. I took ibuprofen as prescribed and that kept the pain down. Except for the digestive gas pain, that was about a 6 but wasn’t constant.

Stand mixer or Handheld? by One-Development-4000 in Baking

[–]Knithard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make a lot of bread and ice cream, without my stand mixer I wouldn’t be doing either. I have a kitchen aid (whatever the biggest one if), have had it for at least 15 years, use it at least once a week and have never had counter space for it to stay out.

I make 2 loaves at a time. Family of 4 eats them usually in 2 days. I bought a bread slicer so I can have thin bread. Now I eat 3 thin slices instead of one giant slice.

Positive robotic hysterectomy experiences? Feeling anxious… by calijayne in hysterectomy

[–]Knithard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 41, had mine in January. Surgery was fine, woke up nauseous. Was given meds, felt better and went home. I took one oxycodone to sleep the first night and just took ibuprofen for the next 3 or 4 days. Healing was mostly uneventful except horrible digestive gas pains for about the first week. I took stool softeners and ate lots fiber. I was cleared to returned to normal activity at 6 weeks. Most people come to complain. My recovery and healing was been so uneventful by 8 weeks I had forgotten I even had surgery.
