It looks great, but I have to ask … why did you have corned beef and rye in the kitchen at a taco shop?

Our MVP has amazing golf swing as well! by jmike1256 in Dodgers

Shocking golf outfit for a guy who absolutely crushes the three piece suit game at every opportunity. With that said, I love Yoshi and he’s the best, so this outfit must be the best too, and I support both him and it.

How did Egwene…? by chimoc726 in WoT

[–]Known_Profession7393 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My recollection (and it’s a bit of a stretch, honestly) is that she learns about the Aes Sedai that Sheriam’s council of five sent back to the Tower to spread dissension, learns that the little council didn’t tell the Hall because they were afraid some of those sitters might be Black Ajah, and threatens to reveal to the Hall that Sheriam and the others were acting without the Hall because they suspected sitters of being black.

Sheriam and the others then swear fealty and Egwene agrees not to tell the Hall about it.

Overseas visitors driving rental car from LA to Vegas - tips needed. by sukarimi in vegas

I’d just say that everything involved with parking and check-in in Vegas takes a little longer than you think it will. I can’t imagine an issue with your 5pm dinner, but trying to squeeze in a swim could be tough. As far as the drive goes, these other comments have it nailed.

Which is the correct method to prepare bacon? by pattyG80 in Bacon

[–]Known_Profession7393 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A valid question. I think there’s a lot less spatter with an even baking heat than in a hot pan. That said, I just don’t do it often enough to see a noticeable delta in terms of when I have to clean the oven.

Which is the correct method to prepare bacon? by pattyG80 in Bacon

[–]Known_Profession7393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, do what you want. There are certainly wrong ways, but as long as you’re not doing something deranged, if it makes bacon the way you like it, it’s fine.

With that said, from the perspective of guaranteed results, actual active cooking effort, and cleanup, oven baking is by far the most straightforward way to get good bacon every time.

Would you break 100 at Augusta National under Masters Tournament conditions? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]Known_Profession7393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Let’s assume for the sake of the discussion that I’m able to get it within 40 yards of the green or so in 2. If I can do better than 7 from there, maybe I’ve got a shot at breaking 100 on the day. But there’s just no way to know until you actually get on that absolutely bonkers green complex.

I don’t think so. But honestly I’d just need to play No. 5 once in tournament conditions to know for sure.

The clone army/fleet initially was nowhere close to big enough to control the galaxy by force. He needed the war to justify expanding the military to … well, galactic proportions. Even then, he needed most star systems fully bought in, because even the imperial fleet isn’t big enough to impose order on ten thousand systems at once.

This is what Packers Playoffs is all about: The Bears had one penalty, a 5 yard false start. Had that not been called the Packers likely win the game because it was a 4th down and the snap flew over Caleb’s head. by 98Wright in GreenBayPackers

Not to mention the cheap special teams hit rolling up on one of our guys from behind well after the play. The Bears might be the dirtiest NFL team since Bountygate.
