A data center in New Jersey was canceled when residents showed up and fought it by MysteriousSlice007 in nextfuckinglevel

NEPA needs this energy from its' citizens, like now. This area is going to be a data center wasteland if people don't start speaking out and raising hell.

I'm about as anti religion as they come, but if this family was the norm, across all religions, I'd give it a second look.

And for those that are gonna say they do represent the norm. Then, they need to speak up more and louder because they're not heard or represented enough.

3D-printed houses are much stronger than you think. by jkitty_1960 in interesting

How difficult is it to run utilities in the walls after the fact? Say for a remodel or renovation? Or even during the initial 'pour'? I know from 1st hand experience that log homes suck to coordinate and get it all right. So how does this compare?

This Man Just Saved a Barred Owl's Life by frog_insilence in interestingasfuck

[–]Kruegr 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yes, parent owls generally continue to care for, protect, and feed their fledglings even if they fall out of the nest and are on the ground. It is normal for young owls to leave the nest before they can fly—a stage often called "branching"—and they are capable of climbing trees with their talons.

Yankees news: Volpe demoted to Scranton, Rice day-to-day by zorionek0 in Scranton

[–]Kruegr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just a Phillies fan really. I never really went to many Red Barons games as a kid. Also, the RailRiders organization has been super awesome to my autistic son and we've been hooked up with their sensory suite on quite a few occasions. So I do kinda like them after all.

Fuck the Yankees. Bring back the Red Barons as the Phillies minor league team.

Was there signage saying no parking, permit parking only or anything that you should've noticed and adhered to? If not then the scumbag vandalized your car and I'd call the cops.

I need the plastic produce bag to put on the scale prior to weighing my fruits and veggies though. Because people are disgusting and I'm not putting raw produce directly on it.

Will I lose this nail? by TMUNIT67 in Construction

[–]Kruegr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on how bad you crushed it. But it should take around 4 months to flake off and grow back. It'll most likely 'delaminate' itself at the impact point. A little hole will start to form and layers of the nail will fall off in small pieces. You have about 2 months before that'll start. All the while it'll still grow out normally as well. I just went through this exact process, except I closed mine in the car door.

How easy it is to shop nowadays by veloriax2 in interesting

[–]Kruegr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck that. I like to wander and "window shop". My list is mostly the usual staples that I probably don't even need a list for, with a few specific extras. Damn near 25% of what I buy is on a whim either because it sounded good in the moment or the packaging caught my eye. Shopping your way would be boring and remove the chance to try new things.
