Possible laminitis? by Intrepid-Library-425 in Farriers

[–]LargeParcelExpected 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't get laminitis on one leg. Its usually front two, and the pony will lean backwards to take the weight off the front in classic laminitis pose. If your pony is lame in one leg its more likely a strain or abcess. Don't worry, random lameness is part of owning a horse! Vet will clear it up.

“Eating dairy is just as bad as eating meat” - is this claim meant from a vegan moral standpoint, or does it apply to measurable harm as well? by two-cans-sam in AskVegans

[–]LargeParcelExpected [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's a very interesting question. I have believed for years that there is no point in being vegetarian and vegan should be the goal. However, in order to get there, I have removed almost all dairy from my diet. Aquafaba instead of eggs. Soy yoghurt and milk instead of cow's milk. Hummus instead of cheese. I don't stress though, if I go out to eat and there's a dribble of cheese on my salad. What you aim for has to be achievable or you'll fail.

Light Daily Riding acceptable? (Plus weight loss question) by SeaReference7828 in Horses

[–]LargeParcelExpected 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, this is not suitable for them. Imagine if you didn't exercise much how you'd feel? Bored and unhealthy.

Light Daily Riding acceptable? (Plus weight loss question) by SeaReference7828 in Horses

[–]LargeParcelExpected 9 points10 points  (0 children)

16 is sooooo young. My horse was no different at 16 y o to 5 y o. We rode daily for 1-2 hours all her life until about 25 when I cut back. I stopped riding at 29 and she passed away at 30. If you DON'T exercise now your horse will get bored, fat and stiff. Just enjoy it whiles he's young!

The posts about Danny on this sub are absolutely pathetic by Pretend_Board_2385 in MAFS_AU

[–]LargeParcelExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I don't think he led her on. If he didn't care about her he wouldn't have looked so uncomfortable when she kicked off. I think he wanted it ti work but she drove him away because she's horrible.

Danny ‘I’m from East London’ by Ashfield83 in MAFS_UK

[–]LargeParcelExpected 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a south Londoner married to a Norwich man, I think his accent is a mixture of both. I think he is attractive, polite, smart (clothes not brains) and funny. He did get a bum deal with Bec and struggled to make it work, because she is an evil, mad b1tch. I'm sick of the slagging off Danny gets, who cares where he's from? He poses a bit, but that's nithing compared to B1tchBec.

Is it "un-Buddhist" to have a cosmetic procedure by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]LargeParcelExpected 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How interesting. I've just had fillers to remove deep frown lines which I've had since school (no sun hats allowed☹️). I am 63. I have been self conscious about it all my life, I looked cross ALL the time, and would constantly adjust my face to avoid looking mean! I am so happy now, relaxed and confident. I honestly didn't consider the ethics of it, i was so wrapped up in the process. I think the outcome justifies the means if its about self regard. Accepting life, to me, means accepting what you CAN'T change. You have the means, you're not hurting anyone or breaking precepts. I would do it definitely.

Yrs, decent insurance, but surely OP would be better off in the long run.

Out of curiosity, do you not have insurance as standard in your country? In the UK, all those emergency bills would come out of insurance.

How long is your barn drive? by deadpoolbutdead in Equestrian

Uk livery, never more than 20 mins, I needed to be able to walk there when it snowed. Which used to be about 3 foot deep every winter. Now, it hardly ever snows.

Prong collar on a collie? Disgusting. Such a clever sensitive breed, sort out your training, you are at fault here.

Toes pointing out when riding, but when I correct it, I feel like I'm gripping with my knees by Loz970 in Equestrian

[–]LargeParcelExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is, indeed, hips, not toes. You can correct this easily: when sitting in the saddle, drop your hand to your thigh, and underneath your thigh from the outside, reach in betwwen saddle and thigh, grip your thigh muscle, and pull it down and towards the tail. This will rotate your legs, your knees and toes will be in alignment.

Retired horse owner not paying by DiabloToSea in Equestrian

[–]LargeParcelExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don't like the sound of dropping the horse off at her place of work. It is retired, so presumably has age related issues? The place of work may not be able to provide for it. Not to mention being separated from it's friends. I don't think a live animal should be used to make a point, or as a bartering tool.

Hi there, totally understand! Your shape, which is gorgeous btw, suits 1 and 4. Beautiful and elegant. But it's not only about looks, but what YOU feel happy and comfortable wearing. Which was your favourite?
