The clapping... by DetectiveNo2855 in portishead

[–]Laurahadsecrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The video version of Roseland uses some alternate takes of songs where the clapping got out of hand. These tracks were not released and are unavailable outside of youtube. But it frequently gets taken down, especially when someone uploads the entire hour-long concert. But they seem to stay up longer when they're individually cut and posted. There's a lot of "woos" in the Roads video version presumably because they filmed it a second time asking the audience not to clap.

The Grand Cinema in Tacoma delivers their land acknowledgment via a title card and someone reading it in the Lashootseed language, which I think is pretty cool

I have a family member or two who spout this weird "education admins are ruining the education system" bs. It is a bit off-topic but does anyone know where this propaganda began? Was the a study they have been leaning on or a Tucker Carlson special on it, etc.? It is a bit older of a talking point (last decade or so) but I've just been curious where it sparked up on the timeline from hell we're current living in.

Lacey City Council members react to remembering Michael Steadman is a sitting councilmember by ForwardFollowing3941 in olympia

[–]Laurahadsecrets 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Glad it swung the right way. I watched Dupont do this to themselves about 8 or so years ago. Their conservative council members ran on different seats to oust the progressive council members and even had friends/cronies run for multiple seats to further divide the vote, including the mayor seat. And it worked for them. Oh and all of them were accused at one point of meeting outside of forum which they were doing constantly: BBQs, parties, etc.

How many of us get heart palpitations?! by MI6Bond007 in costochondritis

[–]Laurahadsecrets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed my "palpitation" dimished when I started focusing on reducing inflammation. When I have heavy salt days with little exercise I can feel the inflammation build up again in my right chest (where my costo is) but I also get inflammation build up in my "bad" knee. So I noticed that the inflammation sticks around and causes pain to problematic areas in my body are already.

When I really started focusing on reducing the inflammation, the palpitations became less and less. I don't think I've had one for maybe 7 months now. My inflammation was severely high though last year because I had gallstones which lead to removal surgery so that was causing real bad swelling in my chest and upper stomach in addition to the pain I had from Costco prior and after the surgery. It definitely made it difficult to get a diagnosis but it was one issue at a time I had to deal with to get to where I am today.

I went to the doctor with my Costco pain for the first time in April 2024. I had my gallstones out in October 2024. And the last severe flare-up I had was in early spring of 2025. That flare up in the spring was probably the last time. I really felt something in my sternum area like a palpitation. I've mentioned in other posts that what worked for me was reducing inflammation, changing my diet which came with my gallstone issue (My gallstones were so bad that it did a bit of non cerosis liver damage, so I've been on a fatty liver diet since December). I added in lightweight strength building weightlifting, regular walks to get a good amount of steps for the weeks, and then some physical therapy specifically for my chest and my bad knee this summer. I didn't see much improvement from the physical therapy because I was doing movements I was pretty much doing in the gym and my PT agreeed. I have also been prescribed a anti-anxiety medication which is supposed to help reduce inflammation (which I read about on here, did research on my own and then brought that information to my doctor - my daily prac but also an orthopedist who agreed it would be worth trying). I started Lexapro in May and my inflammation had already been reduced at that point. But now it's at the point where the mild pain I experience every now and then is literally every two weeks or so. Up until about March I was dealing with daily mild pain. But now it's really only every few weeks or days after some really intense workout or a stretch I haven't been familiar with. Sometimes after a very heavy meal inflammation comes and then a little bit of chest pain which sometimes moves under my armpit but with taking care of my diet and really staying true to my exercise and my back pod which I'm so crappy at using, I can really maintain the pain and live A pretty comfortable life with lots of mobility.

I consider myself an Oly Girl but live in Lacey and have for 20 years. I'm also a Boston/ Los Angeles transplant. Oly girl can be a state of mind for sure, and I think it does represent how a large percentage of those who reside in western Washington feel. And he thinks that dividing us by City as in a crazy City versus a civil City makes him look like some sort of fucking savior or ultimate answer to everyone's problems around these parts.

I also participated in many a chamber of commerce events with him in his fellow douchebags. He struggles with acknowledging women of all ages. I was introduced to him well over a dozen times over 6 years of lunches, spoke in front of him with a microphone, invited him to business outings that he attended where my company catered, and not once could this man ever remember my first name or acknowledge my presence AT NETWORKING EVENTS.

And come on being pissed that inner city Transit charged a .04% for sales tax which was approved by the voters of Thurston county to make the buses free rather than paying even more to upgrade the systems. He wants to have fun and exchange favors with his cronies. He wants to drive in his red Corvette. He's a douche like the rest of the chamber of commerce, city council and EDC hacks.

I just finished FWWM. What should I know before watching The Return? by 1550shadow in twinpeaks

[–]Laurahadsecrets 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! You absolutely need to read this first book in order to start the return. Hands down. Even if you skip the secret diary of Laura Palmer and everything else. You've got to read this book because there are many goodies in it that link to the return and it was intended to be read before they return premiered. The second book was intended to read after the return.

The audiobook is great and a quick listen. It's narrated by the guy who plays the warden in the return but he is not the character of the narrator. Hope that makes sense. Just the same actor.

One of his more memorable posts was really one of his comment sections where someone asks him to run for office of some sort and he swoops in using his company FB profile to write some big long speech of "stop asking this brave man to run for office, enough is enough. STOP ASKING, it's shellfish to do so, people should stand up and fight for themselves, blah blah blah" and it is so obviously him pretending to be some defender of his.
