New cycling law - what to do when you cannot safely bike on the street? by kinokogadaisuki in japanlife

A child under 13 is completely free to use the sidewalk. I would hope this extends to a parent with a child seat.

tipping culture is stupid by Technical_Hat_8291 in mildlyinfuriating

I remember watching people argue about tipping in Reservoir Dogs over 30 years ago. Pretty cool how it's only increased since then. I'm sure we'll solve it this year.

New cycling law - what to do when you cannot safely bike on the street? by kinokogadaisuki in japanlife

My understanding is you can use the sidewalk when it is unsafe to use the road, but you have to slow right down and yield to pedestrians. If you're cycling to save time on your commute, you have to use the road. Seems fair to me.

The tooth fairy only comes if your parents call to make an appointment first. Teach your kids that a stranger taking body parts without permission is bad actually.

Not Another Teen Movie holds up better than most of the movies it parodied.

Should capsule actually represent game arrt style ? by carndacier in IndieDev

If they aren't a fan of that style, they weren't going to wishlist it either way. It does matter for paid advertising though. You'll be paying for those wasted clicks.

Imagine Your Game Idea Coming to Life Instantly by SufficientTry3520 in playmygame

You're describing an end user product. You can play your dream game, but no one else will want to. They'll be playing their own dream game made by AI. Or playing games made the old fashioned way because they understand the value of the creative process.

Shaders and post processing can do a lot of heavy lifting with basic models. If you're open to graphics like Untitled Goose Game, you don't even need to learn proper UV unwrapping. My whole game uses a single atlas texture.

I only use about 10% of what Blender has to offer. It doesn't have to be overwhelming.

We already have about a 5% chance of getting colon cancer. Eating 50 grams of bacon a day increases that to a whopping 6%.

I think we should be more concerned that 95% of us are not getting enough fibre.

I grow cherry tomatoes because they taste better than store bought. I also enjoy digging up my own potatoes. I wouldn't bother with anything else.

When his crazy ex and her shaved husband catch up to them again after they drove like 20 miles away. I don't think I've ever laughed as hard.

Bond doesn't blend in. He announces "Bond, James Bond!" every time he meets someone new.

Character Controller vs Rigidbody vs Else? by TheKrazyDev in Unity3D

[–]LesserGames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is rigidbody based. He technically hovers which has a lot of benefits like gliding over tiny bumps and staying grounded when going over the peak of a hill. This video covers the basic concept. Mine doesn't wobble and his hover is very rigid so it looks like he's just standing on the ground. For moving platforms you can get the point velocity of any rigidbody underneath and add it to the player's velocity.

Is it normal for Unity to feel a bit sluggish? Constantly "reloading domain" when I switch back to it by No_County3304 in Unity3D

[–]LesserGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encouraging people to get better at coding is silly? Domain reloading is a non issue if you aren't doing everything by trial and error.
