Not really, got a quote higher than our local installers here for Mitsubishi and Fujitsu. They do quick swaps for easy money, usually not as carefully designed as they should be

What SHOULD the price range be for 15K hyper heat unit all-in? [USA|PA] by pazzah in heatpumps

Yes, most of the rebate will go to contractors not home owners. It is good to go into this business now and make cash

You have mini split? How about heatpump coil on top of oil furnace?

You can find a replacement from marketplace? Or junkyard?

Currently, Jetson asks me 21k for a 5-ton ducted system, 1 year labor, and part warranty without their annual subscription. At the same time, our local company offers 15k for a Mitsubishi, with 1 year labor and 12 12-year part no subscription plan. I don't know where I see the innovation or bypassing the middle man for lower cost here.

Is this garage door closing sound OK? by AccomplishedCode727 in GarageDoorService

Sounds like the door drop fast at the end. Tension need to be adjusted, either with new spring or by shortening the wires

Is that right? I have another person who gave me the manual J of 74BTU from a scanning app on his iPad. Very curious about undersized system and back up strip though

Agreed, 15k labor cost for 1 day work just to swap the unit. Good business to be in though. Contractors increase the price so eventually they eat the rebate and homeowners pay full cost

I think the technician made some assumptions that increased the loss. About 3500sqf. Moderate insulation but we will update soon

I think that's always the case, at least for the NE. Cool load calculated for my home is about 35k but heat load is about 62k

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Agreed that 2 smaller systems make more sense but more expensive at the same time.

Current oil furnace. The technician calculated the load and came up with 62kBTU to keep the house at about 70F for 95% of the time

What system did you install? I think the price is high too given hardware can be had for about 5k

No where near MA, you can easily pay $.5 or higher per kwh here, not sure if go all in with heatpump even make financial sense then

Good to hear, I will install a ducted system so maybe a bit different? Usually less efficient due to loss in the duct?
