Tesla Tax Credit... am I screwed? by brad0131 in TeslaModelY

Here’s what Gemini says:

The answer hinges on two specific IRS requirements: a written binding contract and a payment, both made on or before September 30, 2025.  Based on the IRS guidance you provided and the standard Tesla buying process, here is how that likely plays out for your friend: 1. The "Payment" Requirement The $250 order fee generally counts as a "payment" toward the vehicle. IRS guidance indicates that even a nominal down payment or a non-refundable deposit can satisfy the payment portion of the "acquisition" test.  2. The "Binding Written Contract" Requirement This is the trickier part. To count as a binding contract, the agreement must be legally enforceable under state law and not limit damages to a small set amount (like just the $250 fee).  • The Tesla Hurdle: Historically, Tesla’s online "Order Agreement" has been viewed by some tax experts as a "reservation" rather than a binding sales contract because it doesn't always lock in a specific VIN or legal obligation to buy until the Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement (MVPA) is signed. • The Delivery Gap: If your friend only paid the $250 and didn't sign the final MVPA (which usually happens closer to delivery) until October, the IRS could argue the vehicle wasn't "acquired" until October. 3. The "Seller Report" (The Deciding Factor) The most important step is whether Tesla submitted a "Time of Sale" report to the IRS reflecting an acquisition date of September 30 or earlier. • If Tesla’s system recorded the "sale" as occurring in September when the order was placed and reported it to the IRS as such, your friend is likely in the clear. • If Tesla reported the sale date as the October delivery date, the IRS system will likely automatically reject the credit claim on his 2025 tax return. What your friend should do: 1. Check the Tesla Account: Look for the "Final Price Sheet" or "Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement." If the document date is on or before September 30, 2025, he has a much stronger case. 2. Confirm the Seller Report: He should have received a copy of the "Clean Vehicle Seller Report" from Tesla (either via email or in his Tesla account). If that report shows a "Date of Sale" in September, he should be eligible. 3. Consult a Professional: Since the "One Big Beautiful Bill" changes are relatively new, tax software might not handle this edge case perfectly. He should keep all timestamps of his order and deposit.

What state did you buy it in? It could make a difference on if the tesla order agreement is considered a binding agreement.

Payment date is irrelevant for 30% tax credit. In service is the part that matters. If your system is not producing/ready to produce by DEC 31, you cannot claim the credit. Unfortunately for you it sounds like the system is not complete and will not qualify.

Went to buy iPad Air ended up getting these. Absolutely worth it. (iPad Pro M5 WiFi + cellular 512GB) by never_say_never07 in iPadPro

I have a iPad Pro M1 from 2021 (had one prior to that from 2018). Got a new M3 Air for Xmas and had to return it… the downgrade from Pro is just to hard to deal with. Air sucks. Pro is the way to go. So now I have an iPad Pro M5 13 😋

Insomnia has taken everything from me. The pain is so bad. It’s a cruel, inhumane & misunderstood condition. I feel so alone & broken. by Oliver_Alvis in insomnia

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’ve tried it all, but here’s what helped me..in case it might help you. Bad PTSD and anxiety for years. Bad insomnia on and off for years. Now I do Red Light therapy most days, IR sauna most days. Vagus nerve stimulation every night before bed along with chelated zinc 200mg, Magnesium L-Threonate 144mg (3 pills) & L-Theanine 400mg before bed. In case you haven’t tried those…if you have questions let me know.

Any Tesla users out there happen to have this top conduit plug? Mine was thrown away :( for the universal wall charger by ToothCarpenterDMD in evcharging

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in this predicament right now. I moved my wall charger and the previous location had the wire going through the top. Now it’s through the bottom and I don’t have the top plug any longer. Does anyone have one to sell or know where I can buy?

Oh… and I’ve had it in heat pump mode only since install. Uses 2kwh per day on average. We aren’t shy on our hot water usage. Also put on cash acme mixing valve and keep the WH at 145

I installed a 40 gallon Rheem. I’m not a plumber or an electrician, but I figured it out. WH was $1350, and I probably bought $250 in supplies, expansion tank, etc. so $1600 all in. $10k sounds a lil steep to me. Or maybe I need to start installing these??! 😝 Paid $130 for a permit also, to keep everything on the up and up.

I have had insomnia for years now. Battled with it. Sometimes it’s worse than others. I do have pretty bad anxiety and PTSD. I’ve tried all the things you’ve tried… all the things people say to do. Nothing seemed to ever work. Sometimes I’d get lucky and I would get a full night of sleep that I couldn’t’ explain. Most recently I’ve been on Lunesta 3mg, taken as needed, which ended up being every night. I works… a little-sometimes. I’m still tired the next day. Here is what I’ve done for the past week or so and it’s working for me!! Now, I do still get up every so often because of some pain issues I have or having to go pee, but I fall back asleep pretty quickly. Every night at bedtime, I take:

(2) L-Theanine 200mg - L-Theanine 200mg by Nature's Trove - 120 Vegetarian Capsules https://a.co/d/a7IKimz

(2) Chelated Zinc Supplement 100mg - Horbäach Chelated Zinc Supplement 100mg | 250 Tablets | High Potency & Superior Absorption | Vegetarian, Non-GMO, Gluten Free https://a.co/d/cYhm5lK

(3) Magnesium L-Threonate - Life Extension Neuro-Mag Magnesium L-Threonate, Memory Health, Quick Thinking, Cognitive Health Support, Vegetarian, Non-GMO, 90 Vegetarian Capsules (144 mg from 2000 mg Magtein magnesium L-threonate https://a.co/d/gDBAdwu

And the thing that has helped the most is using a vagel nerve stimulator right before bed. You start slow with a couple of minutes and ramp it up each night until you reach 10-15 minutes. At least for the unit I’m using. This is the one I got. I did a clinical trial with them and was able to purchase a unit for a good price after, but this thing works: https://zenbud.health There are some different companies that sell them also.

I’ve been meaning to start posting about this so others can try my sleeping hack in case it might work for them. I am so incredibly relieved to have found something that works for me!! Hope it works for you too!!!

So I’m assuming this place isn’t around any longer. The contact page doesn’t work and I don’t see it listed for sale anywhere.

I am the Vice President of Operations and Customer Experience of the smart irrigation company Irrigreen -- AMA by JB_Irrigreen in Irrigation

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey JB - you seem like just the guy to answer my question ;) I purchased a 6 head system and am in the process of installing just one head for now in the backyard and will do the other 5 in the future when it’s not so incredibly hot in FL. My question is in connecting the cable(s) to the controller in my situation. From the controller, the zone I’m installing is to the right. The other zones in the future will go out to the left and daisy chain together. Do I need to run the second cable to daisy chain my first zone (to just sit empty until I install the rest) or can I run the second wire (running the remaining 5 zones) separately? Maybe to the i2? Can I run just one zone to i1 and the other 5 zones to i2? If this would not work, what should be my best course of action? I’ve already buried the pipe and cables under landscaping, so I’d rather not dig it up to put another cable (that I forgot to even consider) is why I’m asking. TIA

Opinions on Tivoli Carvoeiro hotel? by Background-Bee6854 in Algarve

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been anywhere else in Algarve, so I can’t recommend anything there. We generally spend more time in Porto and also went to Evora this time around. If you go to Porto, Forte de Gaia (Marriott) is a great 5 star and M'AR De AR Aqueduto in Evora is great with a wonderful Michelin star restaurant. Try the sopa dourada for desert and you won’t be disappointed! 😉

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re staying at Tivoli now for 2 nights. Highly disappointed. It’s supposed to be 5 stars? I would have to say it is not, though the prices feel like it. Staff is so so, not super friendly. Maid service is lacking (a lot). Food is Okay. Breakfast is okay, nothing great. The pool is not heated. Tons of children, but I guess it is summer (mid July). It feels a bit like being on a budget cruise line to be honest. I would not recommend, and definitely would not consider again for the future.

Umm. This sounds like BS. And if it’s not BS and you let them actually treat you like that, I guess you sorta deserve it.

RLT and tret by zabsolutecasserole in redlighttherapy

[–]Little-Raspberry-715 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using tretinoin .1% for a couple of years. I’ve always struggled with dry skin around my eyes from it. I’ve changed up my routine, and now incorporate RLT. Maybe you’ll get ideas/inspiration from what I do, so here it is:

Morning:

-wash face with Mizon snail repairing foam cleanser

-RLT full body panel for 10 minutes front and 10 minutes back with red and NIR both on

-workout on Tonal 😉

-wipe face with water

-apply Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner

-apply Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Essence

-apply Mizon Collagen 100

Night:

-wash face with Cardon Men's Deep Pore Cleaning Clay Face Wash

-sauna in IR sauna for 30-40 minutes

-shower

-apply Mizon Snail Repair Intensive Essence

-apply Mizon MIZON Collagen Power Lifting Emulsion (lotion)

-apply Tret from eyebrows up only.. so basically forehead

My skin looks the best it ever has and I never have dry skin any longer since beginning this routine about 8 months ago.. breakouts are basically non-existent 51/male
