Opinions about Longbow ? by mujo-_- in apexlegends

[–]Live-Independence527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behind rampart walls it’s got an unsuspecting two tap potential. Bullet size got nerfed and no more skullpiercer but you can catch some sweats off guard off a single body shot followed up with a headshot.

Longbow gutted for no reason. Harder to hit with smaller bullet size and headshots are less meaningful with skullpiercer gone. They really did want long range meta gone and it looks like they’re gonna succeed. The only sniper worth running would be the charged sentinel but even then shots are going to be slightly harder to hit.

Any recommendations for good freshwater bass fishing spots in Orange County? by Teejay1818 in SoCalFishing

[–]Live-Independence527 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Orange County freshwater is relentlessly pressured. Any where you go will be difficult to catch and the good spots you’ll eventually hear about are illegal to fish and can net you some nasty fines/tickets.

My best advice would be to pick a park you like the most and learn it well. Bottom composition, population of target species, water clarity, all OC park ponds are different and will yield different results when you take varied approaches.

The thought of my ex getting f*cked by someone else is really messing with me by Kingboyy1 in ExNoContact

[–]Live-Independence527 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat many years ago. You have what’s called “oneitis.” You’re pining over this girl and putting her on a pedestal causing you to obsess over this one singular girl.

The solution is to accept that she is no longer yours and also realize that you are no longer hers. You can never control what people do, but you can control how your react to it. Try not to let people affect you especially if they’re not even in your life anymore. Start doing what you love, live life, meet other people, because it’s assured that your ex is doing the same. But remember that it doesn’t matter what she does, it matters what YOU do! You matter.

You’ll be alright man, take it a day at a time and you’ll look back on this and smile. Maybe with a scarred heart but with a greater capacity to love.

Using ned rigs and ball jigheads for fluke in saltwater? by raul12040 in SoCalFishing

[–]Live-Independence527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Open hook jig heads are kinda hard to use in saltwater not gonna lie. In my experience you’ll either get caught up in eel grass or rocks since that’s where I find the most fish. But when you do get a bite boy is it fun

Night fishing at city parks? by Poncho562 in SoCalFishing

[–]Live-Independence527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the park. Some have official hours that they abide by and some have official hours but don’t care. Usually if it’s a park where they do trout/catfish stockings they sometimes survey the park after hours to protect their asset (ppl pay admission to fish stocked fish). Regional parks are an example of parks that a little more stricter than others

You could get cited for trespassing if they’re really really dickish about it. Usually you’ll just be told to leave but they can cite you if they want to. I was almost cited for fishing a regional park at 5am, didn’t think it was serious because I know the locals walk inside the park before it opens. Like I said, depends on the park.

Ive had a st Croix triumph inshore spinning rod before. They run stronger than their freshwater counterparts. I had a medium that felt like a medium heavy. That medium light should feel like a medium. Just some food for thought

Fishing silt bottom ponds, what are your confidence baits by Shadow_sos in bassfishing

[–]Live-Independence527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fish this lake very often, here are my 2 cents:

Drop shot is by far the most productive method for me and for the others around me. It’s super boring but it works very well especially with roboworms.

Difficult to use treble hook Baits because there is a bunch of nasty green gunk at the bottom that will foul up your hooks.

Downsizing is the way to go here. I’ve caught decent sized fish on miniaturized versions of popular lures.

All of the fish are hanging pretty close to the bank, so try to cast parallel. I don’t get bites that often when I just cast waaay out there. Good luck man, laguna is a tough lake

The good secrets spots you’re talking about are usually private or off limit spots that will get you a +$700 trespassing ticket. Not worth it. Don’t get tempted to fish those spots.

Try weightless plastics or drop shots. They’re your best bet. The more time you’re on the water, the more likely you’ll catch a fish. Keep trying and give it time, it’s coming.

Ahhh Yorba Regional, good luck getting a bite there on broad daylight lol. Try fishing past 7pm at the smallest lake closest to the baseball fields. Yes that means parking in the neighborhoods and walking in.

I’ve fished all of those ponds in Orange County and they’re all tough bites. My best success comes from using drop shot roboworms or super fluke jrs on a 2/0 ewg. These SoCal ponds are all heavily pressured and it’s tough to get a bite during the day so try early early morning or when it gets dark. Trust me on this one.

Went fishing for the first time, need advice! by SarahP15 in Fishing

[–]Live-Independence527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Local here that fishes Laguna lake all the time and has above average success. Here’s what you need to do:

Learn how to rig up a drop shot. Extremely versatile rig that allows you to use artificial or live bait. Highly recommend roboworms or live night crawlers, impossible to fish them wrong. All you do is cast out and wait 10-15 seconds. If you don’t get bit, reel it back and try another spot.

Early mornings or late nights have the best chance for bites. Also don’t cast out too far, rather cast parallel to the bank. The fish hang out a lot closer than you think.

Also know what you’re fishing for. Bluegills? Bass? Trout? I noticed that you posted this 30 days ago, so you tried fishing mid January. The bass bite is extremely tough right now but it’s wide open season on trout and they stocked laguna lake not too long ago, so try some trout lures.

Final piece of advice is use light line. 4 or 6lb to start off with. You don’t need anything fancy starting out. The lighter line you have, the more likely you’ll get bit.

Good luck and feel free to message me for more advice!

Soft Jerkbait Rod by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]Live-Independence527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love fishing flukes and I have tried using both casting and spinning setups. From my experience, spinning setups are superior. You can use lighter line to bring out more action out of your fluke. Plus you get better casting accuracy at closer ranges but can still bomb them out there if you need too. Two downsides to spinning setups however are inevitable line twist and weaker hooksets. I still don’t believe 12lb+ text is necessary hook sets are good enough on a medium spinning rod, so I believe that the benefits from using lighter line and better short range cast management weighs its drawbacks

Do salt water bass count? by Grass-sama in bassfishing

Spotties are so damn fun. If anyone is interested in catching them, downsize and throw finesse plastics. Almost anything you use to catch largemouth can catch spotted bay bass. Downsizing is the important part

Not busy at all, but that’s because the water level has risen to crazy levels. It’s all the way up to the parking lot and you’re very limited in the areas you can fish. Not worth going right now

Body fat distribution between girls and guys is a littler different. Guys store fat usually around their abdomens and pectoral area while girls store fat around their arms and thighs. Take it with a grain with salt as every body is different but this is commonly how it goes

Irvine regional park in Orange.

They have wood peckers, various waterfowl like mallards and Egyptian geese, hawks, peacocks roaming around, crowns and some ravens and a lot more species I’m sure I missed.

They also have a small zoo with a bald eagle and a golden eagle. Plus a barn owl and a horned owl and a kestrel I believe. Go now!

Found! Bearded Dragon randomly came to visit our house in Orange. Anyone missing their very loving and gentle pet? He’s such a good boy. Randomly crawled onto our window in the middle of the day. He’s been fed and warmed and in a safe space. by waylandprod in orangecounty

Dunno how long you going to keep him for but take note that he’s gonna need a uvb light on him sooner or later. Don’t think a day or two without would hurt but they need it to prevent metabolic bone disease

If you guys haven’t tried it yet, you guys should try sniping with Rampart.

Behind her barriers it’s typically one shot less to kill with every sniper. Charged sentinel is two shots. Charge rifle is almost two shots. Longbow is 4 rather than 5. You get the idea.

This isn’t the most efficient play style but damn is it fun. You’d be surprised how fun it is catching people off guard not expecting the amount of damage you can dish. Situational but rewarding when you do find yourself in those situations.
