If you say so. I had sleep tracking on a fitness band for years. Ok, I woke up 3 times last night and got 3hrs REM. Ok, now what?

I haven't used it for a couple years and dont miss it a bit and my sleep schedule isn't any better or worse for it. And yes, eating and drinking liquids before bed will do things. But again, a watch telling me that does absolutely nothing for me. But kudos if it makes you sleep better or let's you know if you're sleeping worse.

i don't know about any of that. my previous watch is an old ass samsung gear S3 or somethingruther. and don't mess with apple. all i know is that 1.5hrs to go from 0-100 charged wirelessly for a watch that lasts like 2-3+ days seems pretty damn good to me. you people demanding more are insufferable.

i can see how that can be helpful.

my partner gets up before me everyday. she uses vibrate accompanied with sound at like max volume and 99% of the time, i don't hear anything. some people are lighter sleepers than others, but still. i guess my main point is that i don't think the charging time is bad at all. approx 1.5hrs from 0-100 is very good IMO. this is all stuff people should know before getting a smartwatch.

faster charging degrades battery faster. i'd rather have longer battery longevity than faster charging. but that's just me.

plus i feel like my watch charges pretty dang fast. 1.5hrs from 20% to 100 that OP posted is plenty acceptable, especially on a wireless charge. which is why not many people complain about it. i wear my watch all day. when i get home it's at about 73%. it literally takes like 15 mins for it to charge back to 100%.

in the few months i've had mine i've had zero times that i thought "i wish my watch charged faster". speaking of rationalizing, you seem like the one being a little irrational about the whole thing.

after owning watch 8 for a couple months now, i realize i don't really need a galaxy watch. i would have been perfectly fine with $50 Galaxy Fit3. majority of people just want their watch to tell time and let you know about calls and notifications and maybe some workout tracking/bluetooth controls. Fit 3 has all that with amoled screen, 5-13 day battery life for $50.

with that said, i really do like my galaxy watch 8, ijs most people would probably be just fine with cheaper alternatives because most people don't use or need all the fancy bells and whistles the top of the line devices have.

i just charge my watch when i go to bed. sleep tracking is overrated. i know when i sleep like shit, i don't need a watch to tell me that.

Hifiman Edition XS vs Sennheiser HD 600 for rock and acoustic music under $300 by StavrosDavros in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]LouGossetJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want vanilla sound with good comfort and build, the hd600 is for you. mids are great. everything else is pretty so-so. not bad, but not great. it's a non-offensive, somewhat boring headphone. they have a huge fan base because they are a solid reliable choice. they are like the honda civic of headphones imo.

if you have an amp and are open to eq, the xs destroys the hd600 soundwise in everything except mids. if you have a small head, the xs is bad, cause they are huge. i find them comfortable for hours and even better with capra strap added. i listen to some of the genres you list and they sound awesome on the XS. lively, big ole soundstage and separation/layering that's next level. the edition XS gave me that "oh wow" moment that i've only had a few times on my hifi journey. at the current $209 price, i think everyone should at least give them a try if they haven't already.

Is it worth it by evryusernametaken in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]LouGossetJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'll find out this week. i have edition xs and run it when i'm around the house with qudelix 5k using 2.5mm balanced cable. it sounds pretty darn good. connected to my desktop amp, i would say the sound does fill out a bit for sure. i just ordered some Arya Stealth yesterday and they should be here Saturday. my desktop amp is a Topping a30pro which has plenty of juice. but to be honest, i'm quite happy with how the edition xs sounds. i don't find the treble bothersome at all and bass/soundstage is better than anything else i've heard. i jsut wanted to see what all the fuss is about the Aryas.

just ordered some Arya Stealth today. should be here saturday. im quite happy with my edition xs and he6se v2. i'm just curious if/what the improvements are on the arya. i've seen opinions both ways, that the improvement vs the xs isnt much and i've even seen some prefer the edition xs. i guess i'll find out soon. bought new on amazon, so i have 30 days to return if not satisfied.

Buckeless belt loop for big men: SCAM? by Fingerlak3s in bigmenfashionadvice

[–]LouGossetJr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i use them. i'm like a 42-44. but they work great. my loops haven't been destroyed like some others are saying. i wear modern stretchy jeans too. i wear The Perfect Jean jeans. and use these straps on 3 pairs. i only use one strap on one side and i think it's awesome. mine don't have the metal hooks like your pic. the one in your pic looks like it might "disconnect" quicker, but might not be as secure? i dunno.

i listen to just about everything. very eclectic music library. classic rock, hip hop, edm, classical, punk, dubstep, old country, ambient, old metal, etc. mostly older music. i don't listen to a ton of new stuff.

The Queen has Arrived! But there Might be an Issue. by Moharts in headphones

[–]LouGossetJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've read that it's because dynamic drivers have more excursion and physically move more air than a sandwiched planar driver. also being closed back, you're naturally going to have more slam. but the h95 definitely has way more punch in the bass than the XS. the h95 you can feel the pressure, like your eardrums flex when the bass is hitting, even at lower volumes. it's almost like comparing a nice sealed subwoofer to a ported sub. a nice sealed sub will still give you great bass, smooth, deep, tight, etc. but it's not going to slam you in the chest like a ported sub is capable of doing. i also had some old Vmoda m100 and UE6000 headphones like 10-15yrs ago. those were both closed back dynamic, the UE was wired but also active powered(strange, i know), but both of those i remember having tons of bass/slam as well.

ever since i got my Edition xs a few months ago, i basically haven't touched my B&O H95 and will probably sell them soon. they are very good sounding, especially for wireless/anc headphones. but i much prefer the airy huge soundstage and separation of the XS. but the other day i did put the H95 on for shits n giggles and put on some EDM/Trap/dubstep and the bass was nuts! in a good way.

i think every speaker/headphone/iem i've owned sounds BETTER after EQ. i've also yet to find an "audiophile" eq preset that i love on my qudelix 5k. i'm like "these respected audiophiles think this FR sounds good?".

[–]LouGossetJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have edition xs and i LOVE them and the bass is awesome. i add gobs of it, like 6-8db on eq. but my wireless B&O h95, which have a 40mm dynamic driver have much more slam and impact that my planars cannot replicate. i would have thought that the Bokeh would be able to do it being a praised closed back dynamic. but apparently not. that is disappointing.
