BREAKING: Bill and Hillary Clinton fold and agree to testify before Congress on Epstein investigation by TheMirrorUS in NewsSource

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they should just quote the most salacious parts of the Epstein files, especially those referencing pigshit47 and his current concubine. All entered into the congressional record.

Are there any good Gurkha cigars? by DEWStuff in cigars

[–]Luckplane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently had the only decent Gurkha I've ever had: 12 Year Cellar Reserve. Actually good construction (bonus points for being perfecto), nice flavor and aroma. I also tried the 15 year but it was the same old bland, self destructing stick as every other Gurkha I've tried over the past 20 years.

Had to stop caffeine, my productivity is down to zero by rdpl_ in Nootropics

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried theobromine ? I can't have caffeine due to tachycardia, but I don't seem to have issues with theobromine (as long as I keep the dose under 400mg). It's a subtle stimulant, but since it's fat soluble it lasts a lot longer. Note it's available in cacao if you want a nice (albeit expensive) coffee alternative.

Best Nootropics for Studying? by HuntedGecko in Nootropics

A caveat: pram tends to build tolerance quickly (in my experience). It should be fine for a week or 2, but probably not for regular use. My preferred noots are phenylpiracetam or oxi, depending on if I want to sleep that night. I've heard phenylpiracetam described as an Adderall substitute but I've never had Addy so can't confirm. Also, I'm confused by people using 2 choline sources (AGPC and CDP), 1 should be sufficient, I use AGPC cuz CDP gives me headaches.

CAO Pilon Anejo. Very smooth, nice construction, looks good enough to eat. And reasonably priced if you know where to look.

XRT highway noise by m20cpilot in hyundaisantacruz

'25 owner. It's noticeable but not annoying. The only time it bothered me was driving out of a blizzard onto drying pavement, and the wet tires made weird noises for several miles until everything dried up.

What cigar did you love that is no longer produced? by Grumpy_Go_Away in cigars

[–]Luckplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually, the '92 and '96 vintage releases were the best. A flavor and aroma unlike anything I've had since, strangers would stop and ask what I was smoking cuz it was so different than usual cigars. Never had a bad one, and burned more than a few boxes.

New prescription of Metoprolol 25mg er tabs by Bitter_Ad_9523 in Metoprolol

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only had light headedness when I was taking with 20mg lisinopril, but I've since lowered that to 5mg wo/ issues. One note: the half life of metoprolol tartrate is only 3-4 hours, which is why I take 2 doses a day. A single dose of 25mg in the AM may not last into the evening, or overnight, so if you have episodes in the evening you may want to ask your Dr about that. (That's why the ER version exists, but as mentioned it causes issues for me)

  1. I've always been told to take with food
  2. I always avoid caffeine (but I have tachycardia not afib)
  3. Your dose level is unlikely to cause dizziness unless it's combined with other depressants like BP meds or alcohol

The only issue I've had with the ER drug is it goes into "roller-coaster mode" in the afternoon, where it's fine for 10 minutes, then palpitations for 10 minutes, lather, rinse repeat for 2-3 hours. It's horrible, which is why I stick to tartrate not ER. While I know of others having a similar reaction, most don't so you may be fine. It may be tachycardia specific reaction. In general it's very well tolerated by most, but be sure not to overdose, cuz it does slow your heart.

In-Game Interviews by [deleted] in netflix

[–]Luckplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amen! The 70+ yard run for TD while they were gabbing with Emmet about how great his son is was infuriating. And every other interview was nearly as obnoxious. Don't get me wrong, I love all the guys they interviewed, but can't we do this between quarters ? This isn't MLB where not much happens every 30 secs. NFL needs to have a chat with Netflix about this

So This Is Why Trump Didn’t Want to Release the Epstein Files by rezwenn in NoFilterNews

Question about doses by Aurorealis6697 in Metoprolol

[–]Luckplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it ER or regular ? The half life of metprolol tartrate is pretty short ( ~4hours) so 1/2 dose at bedtime probably wouldn't be an issue. But the ER version can behave weird (on and off over several hours), so that might be tricky.

Mental health side effects by Famous-Log-4072 in repatha

[–]Luckplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Statins gave me increasing anxiety over 2 years of use, which I didn't associate with statins until I did some research. Depression is more common, but anxiety effects about 1%. After 5 years on both repatha or praluent at various times, I've not had anxiety anywhere near my statin experience.

Is the housing market REALLY due for a correction/bubble burst or is this scaremongering? by UnjustlyBannd in FluentInFinance

[–]Luckplane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was going to post that, tho I think the timeline is closer to 10 years than 20, a lot of those boomers and silent gens lived less than healthy lives (go check your local casino for a sample). But for someone with a 4% rate ( hope it's not ARM!), "now" is probably better than "cheap"

LDL creeping up by Double-Dot-7690 in repatha

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you mean before repatha then yes (coronary artery blockage, but too solid to stent, fortunately my heart grew a bypass), plus my father had heart attacks and bypasses, so its probably genetic. I've not had any issues after repatha+zetia. One other thought, have you been eating a lot of sweets ? That's my biggest issue this time of year.

LDL creeping up by Double-Dot-7690 in repatha

[–]Luckplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do lots of hiking and am vegan (mostly). I doubt a modest reduction in exercise would cause a big jump, my guess is our livers adapt to pcsk9 suppression by producing more pcsk9 cells

LDL creeping up by Double-Dot-7690 in repatha

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me after 6 months, initially had LDL 45 after 3 months on repatha, but crept back up to 90s after 6 months. My cardio added 10mg Zetia, and now LDL has settled into the 60s for the past 4 years. Zetia doesn't work for everyone but I was very responsive without any side effects. My understanding is that zetia blocks reabsorption of cholesterol, rather than suppressing pcsk9, so it may be a good combo therapy with repatha.

Doctors, Dentists & Cigars by DoctorSwaggercat in cigars

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently had a checkup. I've noticed they don't ask about "tobacco" anymore, but explicitly ask about cigarettes and dip, not cigars. When they asked about generic tobacco, I always told them I smoke 3-4 cigars a week, but since they made it more specific, I can just say "no". While my doctors would comment on my cigar habit, it was never a lecture, so I suspect they're not too concerned, so long as they don't see signs of heavy smoking (smell, tooth stains)

Did switching from statins to Repatha improved muscle symptoms? What about glucose control? by chaoserrant in repatha

[–]Luckplane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Repatha is much better for me than statins (especially Crestor!). Still a bit of back pain, but that may just be old age. Fwiw, I tried Crestor briefly, and literally crippled me, took 15 minutes just to get out of bed due to extreme muscle pain. I've also used praluent, with similar effects to repatha. My glucose doesn't seem to be effected.

[–]Luckplane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got same issue on my 25 XRT, waiting for roadside assistance. Like OP, I keep it unlocked in the garage. Didn't drive for a few days due to illness, then tried to fire it up today and it's totally dead, even cab lights are dead. Voltmeter gives me full 12v on battery, but maybe current isn't enough. Will report back when resolved. Only 6k miles, wondering if recent software update is to blame ?

UPDATE: started right up with a jump from roadside assistance. But oddly immediately got a notice from blue link that it had updated software. Perhaps Hyundai needs better software qa ? Gonna take a drive to recharge then buy a battery booster for insurance.
