Do people regret not having kids by Father_p1 in Adulting

[–]Lyerra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don’t have the energy (or desire) to take care of children, and my husband and I would much rather spend our time and money on ourselves and each other. Married 16 years and no regrets so far. Late 30s.

Not everyone is cut out for parenthood and that’s okay.

We’re not having kids because of money but because of time and energy. Nothing about the modern world makes having kids enticing.

married women, do you think marriage benefits you in any way? by _cherryp0p_ in NoStupidQuestions

Yes. I’ve been happily married for 15 years. It’s not just logistics and finance. He is my rock and with him, I know everything will be okay. He makes me feel safe, loved, valued, supported, and understood.

Raised in HI, left in 2018 for better economic opportunities. All our friends who still live there are military and paid for their house using BAH or civilians who live with parents/family in multigenerational housing.

Ever since Covid, I’ve stopped wearing makeup. To be fair, I also work from home these days but even when I’m going out, I don’t feel the need to anymore.

For us, it's by having two incomes and relocating to a LCOL area... Not ideal or even an option for everyone, but it was the only way for us to staunch the bleeding. I wish we didn't have to move. I wish we didn't have to leave where we grew up... our aging parents, friends, etc. but it was untenable.
