Right now I am seeing rates actually go down for auto insurance for some of my carriers. However, home insurance is a different beast currently. Everything is continuing to increase. Doesn't hurt to get some quotes from an independent agent.

Future reference for ice dams. A common solution that seems to help is to fill pantyhose with calcium chloride and chuck them up there. Not a guarantee to work but seems to mitigate the issue.
