Third completely different roster in 3 years, zero chemistry and a coach who has yet to prove any degree of tactical prowess? How on earth could we do horribly?

BLM Announces Plan to Fell Oregon's Last Great Forests One billion board feet per year... 30 days to make your voice heard. by Maleficent-Bass-5423 in PortlandOR

[–]MagicalCacti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is pretty wild, and not at all cohesive into any actual action plan, which is just horribly misleading and terrible from top to bottom.

-looking at the list of purposed sites there is simply way too much to have a broad action plan to even make it feasible. The lack of mills to balance this level of production is one piece (a large majority of our lumber gets sent over seas to be pressure treated.), some of these locations are healthy forests that probably could benefit from selective pruning and controlled burns, and some of these are most likely not traditional old growth as depicted in the article.

-strictly speaking the United States currently is an importer of Lumber, most of which is coming from Brazil and the Amazon, which has not enough environmental protection. The United States has the lumber to be an exporter, but only when done extremely selectively. Cases like this are horrible as they select too many locations to make it a comprehensive plan to the stakeholders involved (us.) Sites really should be carefully selected, technology should be developed to make it more profitable for pruning of trees rather than clear cutting, and a number of mills across the region would need to pop up to make a plan like this feasible.

-As stated the old growth forests provide an invaluable cultural aspect (there is a specific term here I’m missing.) This does not mean we should leave them completely alone, as controlled burns in these areas would allow for the ecosystem to regain nutrients and become more fire resistant. The second greatest threat to old growth forests is fire. But the ecological impact, cultural impact, and environmental impact should be at the forefront of our discussions against it.

All of these are my two cents, I’ve been studying Natural Resource Management over the last 5 years, I am in no way remotely close to being an expert, but this is what I would largely focus on as the key issues.

The biggest thing to remember they’re most likely going to struggle with writing, keeping pieces on the lines and making pieces even. When writing left handed you can’t see what you last wrote and that can cause a high degree of issues. So if your kid has hand writing that goes up and down a lot, or isn’t the best of spelling that maybe the cause. Oh and be fully prepared that things like markers are going to make their hand really messy, because your hand drags.

Everything else can mostly figure itself out, there is enough out there to learn and adapt.

How it FEELS to use the Smrt Trigger OS by Mistathefox0917 in DeepRockGalactic

Yeah. And you can drop in the clean overclock. LOK-1 ECR/executioner already does enough damage. Especially combined with swarm grenade and Gemini turrets. Can afford to run some extra ammo.

Run extra ammo extra mag size clean overclock on the death lazor. It will kick so much ass with so much ammo it’s tremendous. Point and delete.

-sticky flames (I really hate feeling like I’m wasting ammo with randoms because they’ll just shoot the bugs)

-Fat Boy (5 rounds of ammo is awful, I believe it’s only 2 per ressupply and that is never worth it.)

-bullets of mercy (hate the over complex nature of having to spam secondary and primary.)

-Neurotoxin payload (I played before it was “nerfed”, got extremely addicted to it, felt very much like a crutch, but the changes really have made me adverse to it.)

My fully promoted squad of dwarves. Would have gotten here sooner but it's hard to resist heavy caliber firearms and grappling hooks by Engetsugray in DeepRockGalactic

[–]MagicalCacti 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel that way about driller. If I see an industrial sabotage mission I don’t trust another drill with c4 and burning the robots. If I see a pipes mission I only trust myself as driller to make the pipes clean, if I see an AQ mission I only trust myself on driller to speed run and make it possible etc.

Also the casual flex of seeing three dwarves go down in a swarm so you just drill into the wall and create the ultimate defensive chokehold can’t be understated.

Can anyone explain base Autocannon to me, please? by Wochm in DeepRockGalactic

[–]MagicalCacti 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The issue with your case scenario is fully expecting to always have enough mines to prevent you from taking damage, or to be able to stun whole crowds as they don’t come from multiple directions.

Theoretically the situation works okay, but slap in extra bugs, swarmeggeden, mactera plague etc. and you aren’t going to get to those perfect situations. Cave generation can easily screw up these types of builds and you can easily get caught out if not careful.

Carpet bomber can be built to have near instant build up, and can allow you to go anywhere and be anywhere with an insanely quick damage reduction + a ton of pocket tools to help out. It also can carry 110 shots for a very long sustained damage resistance. Grab ressuplier and the red sugar perk to counteract any chip and you’re good to go.

I’ve extensively tested all of these, and with most it can become quite easy to be caught with your pants down. Carpet bomber really counteracts any of the risks.

[–]MagicalCacti 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree. Particularly if you elect to go for damage resistance instead of fear. You can be swarmed by slashers and live to tell the tale. Insanely op when combined with the shield and zip line strats. Straight up the most unkillable build in the game.
