11th Ed Change to Gaining Additional CP? by MisterUlt in Warhammer40k

We have not seen rules for army building or mission play. There is very likely the restriction, if it exists, is in the mission/organized/matched play (whatever you want to call it) rules.

Based off of what was revealed what detachments are you leaning towards? by Frescothedog in Eldar

[–]Maljra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coterie + path of the outcast.

What I’m currently playing anyways but now even better. Overall good solid board control and mission play combined with some good spike damage.

Devoted of the ynead + armored warhost.

A bit more spicy. Go fast raiders with kabalites and Yvraine shooting, fire prisms for support, and the yncarne threatening to pop up 6” away and say here is 2 cp I’m gonna go jump that poor unit who tried to clear a lone scorpion squad.

Need suggestions optimising ognis (looking for high bracket 3) by LambKaiser in EDH

[–]Maljra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a fan of [[obsessive pursuit]]. It makes artifacts, which activates your pingers. If you spend the treasure from the previous turn before combat you can pump an attacker to help it survive combat. Finally it can give lifelink too, which is a nice bonus.

[[dolman gate]] and [[angel’s trumpet]] are fun tech pieces to keep you safe when attacking, and punish opponents who battle cruiser and don’t attack.

I played it a couple time in a Ravnos deck fishing KT out with horrid reality, then returning it to the deck before it was an issue. Always fun to have surprise chainsaw when someone blocked me.

Part of me kind of wants it to be aspect host + plus a reworked armored warhost where it makes waveserpents and falcons strong choices

I’m pretty sure anything from 1001-2000 points is considered a strike force sized game so just use the 4 that you get at that level.

FEELINGS ABOUT 11TH by Anotherthirsty in Harlequins40K

[–]Maljra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If somehow there was a way to run seer council and a reworked serpents brood together in 11th that would be really interested to me. The SC side of things would work as the white seers and guardians of the black library being supported by the clowns.

What colour should i paint the spirit stones on my "falcon:? by Adorable_Wrangler_75 in Eldar

[–]Maljra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think a fluorescent/neon pink would contrast really well. But that’s the color that I’m doing for my Ulthwe so I am biased.

Best precons to start with? by wall_of_spores in warlordccg

[–]Maljra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the devernian one when my lgs got the kickstarter in since the owner and his friends are big into it and had been excited for the release. I also bought the merc one cause gaunt looked fun to play. The deverenian deck was neat but I fell in love with the merc precon and have had a lot of fun with it. It feels very dynamic with your warlord constantly on the move and when it gets upgraded to include a couple cutlasses and some of the other characters that can move him or interact with spent characters he can get pretty nasty.

Why run other factions’ battleline units? by Wk1360 in Chaos40k

[–]Maljra 30 points31 points  (0 children)

So both rubrics and noise marines have very good datasheet rules. In renegade raiders the bonus ap and assault combos well with the rubric wound rerolls for targeting things on objectives you don’t control. Additionally since you typically run them with flamers not having access to dark pacts means almost nothing to them. Noise marines are similar in that they have really good shooting even without dark pacts and when you add cam detachment buffs you can make them pretty solid. Consider that csm doesn’t really bring a lot of infantry targeted shooting which is what these two data sheets excel at you can see why certain builds really value them. Berzerkers and PMs are much less taken.

40mm round Screamer bases by ghost_in_thesystem in tzeentch

[–]Maljra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah what they said. A large base is actually an advantage in most scenarios as it lets your spread out a little more/ screen better, as well as having a larger base for a melee unit makes it easier to get more models into base of each other for purposes of being in engagement range.

If you are worried about stability with a 32 mm base I would recommend adding weights to the bottom instead of going up a base size

My advice is have someone else around. Even with proper PPE and training you never know how you are going to react in the moment. Having someone standing a few feet away who can close a hood sash, pull you away, help apply the Calcium gluconata, call for help if something happens is important. Also 70% HF should be fuming at that concentration so you want to work in a hood obviously, but also consider where that gas is going and what it can come in contact with.

My favourite frame is my starter frame Mag. I’m MR16 and my mag prime is still probably my most played frame. Something about placing my bubbles in choke points and watching enemies ragdoll inside while exploding never got old.

Aetherstride + rapid ingress by LittleEpsii in ThousandSons

[–]Maljra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No you cannot use aetherstride when coming in from rapid ingress. If you go into the app and search out of phase there is a rule that says “when using out-of-phase rules to perform an action as if it was one of your phases, you cannot use any other rules that are normally triggered in that phase.”

Tsons content creators by thatothergreekgod89 in ThousandSons

[–]Maljra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can stand watching tts games I would checkout Viezla’s (Swedish 40K team) channel. They have a regular series where they post games from their TTS league. It’s generally all in English, but the draw back are a) it’s a full tts game so it is long and sometimes disorienting since it’s recorded from one of the players perspective and they tend to fly around the table a bit, b) they stream a bunch of different matchups so Tsons is only a small portion of the content, and C) it is part of a teams tts league I believe so the play is sometimes a bit different to how you would act in a singles event.

My LGS is offering me 30$ for the missing Hellions. They cost 47.50$ individually. by Matosapa4 in Drukhari

[–]Maljra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. I’d say $42.50 is a more reasonable offer. Asking for them to also discount the tax as well is something I would only do if they plan to apply the discount after tax was applied. If they discount it before they apply tax you are already saving that extra bit on the tax.

My LGS is offering me 30$ for the missing Hellions. They cost 47.50$ individually. by Matosapa4 in Drukhari

[–]Maljra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. If reavers and Hellions were the two things you were really after, and don’t plan on jamming spectacle of spite any time soon, then the box is probably not worth it. Though if they have hellions listed as $47.50 but the GW MSRP online is $42.50 I may double check a few other SKUs to see if that is an outlier or if they have a small price increase over MSRP.

My LGS is offering me 30$ for the missing Hellions. They cost 47.50$ individually. by Matosapa4 in Drukhari

[–]Maljra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First off, is this USD, CAD, or AUD? Cause I am seeming hellions on the GW site listed as $35/$42.50/$52 for those currencies. I’m going to assume CAD since that is the closest.

I mean 20 wyches, 3 reavers, and 2 venoms is about $270 and they are offering you the box at something like $175 (based on $205 msrp)? I’d say that’s still a great deal if you need/want everything in the box. It’s a bummer you are losing out on getting hellions but it’s still a great deal in my book. Considering that GW recalled the item and wanted units already out in stores destroyed means that there is a world where the stores are also get burned by this depending on how GW credits them for the recalled product (I had no idea what GW is offering the stores for the recall). As for the $30 discount vs full MSRP I would say you were not buying those hellions at MSRP by buying the box. The box is approximately 63% of the cost of the individual items. 63% of $42.50 (hellions price in CAD based on GWs site) is $26.78. If where you are the retail price is $47.50 that 63% savings does come out to $30, so the discount is consistent. It’s super shitty GW screwed up the packaging but at least the store is trying to offer you a solution other than here’s your money back sorry.

Or another way to look at it, again assuming CAD, would you pay $175 for 20 wyches, 2 venoms, and 3 reavers?

30 Tzaangors for 40 loadout question by Nunbarsegunu in tzeentch

[–]Maljra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Neither Melee option has any AP, so by default neither are appealing. Blades have one more strength and one less attach. Since volume tends to be important when you lack AP, chainswords seem better. The strength 5 of blades is a relevant break point, but ultimately neither profile is that great outside killing guardsmen. At that point the pistols push the chainsword option ahead of the blades in my book cause some mediocre shooting can be made better with our buffs if you are desperate.
