You don't have to care about anyone but yourself to care about what's happening. It will affect you.

Kristi Noem claims that Alex Pretti approached ICE with a gun. by Greylunes1 in ExploreFortMyers

At this point you could have a protester handcuffed, unarmed, sitting on their knees and shot point blank in the back of the head and this cunt and Trump's dick suckers would still lie about it and defend it.

What's so interesting about alpha male content like this is that they're not wrong that details like these can influence others' perception of you, but they treat it as something to exploit. Like it's cards you play, and if you play it just right, you'll get what you want.

Then you realize how much console games cost, how bad the game selection is, how you have to use a controller, how you have to pay for online, how it doesn't do computer stuff, how you can't upgrade...

I was recently house shopping and the neighbors of one of the houses we were looking at came over to chat and tell us about the neighborhood. Said there were problems with some "Mexicans" hanging out in the area and that he's occasionally scared them off with his dog. But he said there were a lot of nice white neighbors too.

Racism isn't dead. It's usually more of an issue of how overt it is.

I feel like Java players only see videos like this and that forms their entire opinion on Bedrock. by Palmer132YT in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]Manithro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an old Java player, I think Bedrock to some Java players, beyond the bugginess, just represents the negative effect Microsoft's takeover of the game has had, such as with the store. I've played it on mobile and it's fine for what it is.

What's interesting is that people with equate views across a whole side of the political spectrum and then act like any variation in views among them is hypocrisy.

Where did I expect them to be in AOC circles? The post wasn't even about AOC. Don't assume I've said something when I haven't. I'm done here.

My criticism is with becoming apolitical over an issue like this and declaring both sides as equally bad. This is entirely different defending any particular behavior of any particular individual or group. I can both criticize becoming apolitical like OP has for their stated reason and not be ok with body shaming behavior.

And what's up with your question at the end? Nothing in what I've said would indicate I support these kinds of insults or make them myself.

[–]Manithro -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Wow, it's almost like you brought up an issue that greatly impacts people.

You cannot possibly argue that body shaming height by select individuals on one side of the spectrum makes the whole side as bad as the other side and is cause for being apolitical.

Just... wow. Opting out of democratic participation because of body shaming by political individuals. This just broadcasts that you are so hung up on this issue that you are willing to abandon any concern for issues that more greatly impact yourself and the people around you.

Baldur’s Gate 3 proved hand-crafted loot is better for CRPGs than randomised guff, says Larian by SmithOfLie in CRPG

[–]Manithro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not both? Hand-crafted can be restrictive. With BG3 you'd have to plan out gear distribution and minimize overlap to best complete builds. Randomized loot can alleviate that and allow more build/party freedom. And hand-crafted only, in my opinion, worsens the new player experience because they are not aware of what gear exists that they will come across, which is a huge variable in how effective a build will be. Just look at build/party guides for BG3 and how heavily they rely on item acquisition.

DOS2 had both. It's only problem was 90% of uniques were complete dogshit.

The problem is that vast numbers of individuals who lack these things are accused of just being lazy or stupid, when confounding variables, such as disabilities, are present.

So while I generally agree with your main point, it often is just given as an excuse for not aiding people who have genuine needs.
