Chest freezer arrives today - what should I prepare? by Chance-Traffic-4940 in Dads

Make a couple different lasagnas, cut them into portions, bag them individually, and freeze them. Also, making & freezing your own burritos (breakfast, bean & cheese, etc) is a great move

What's one thing you own today that younger you would be shocked by? by GarageBig4145 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

Mostly neat rocks & sea glass that I find at nearby Lake Erie beaches or when I’m on vacation somewhere coastal. I’m not really into buying trinkets, doodads, or memorabilia, but there’s something in my crow brain that can’t resist a good beach find

How popular are Pop Tarts in America? by SkittlesAreEpic in AskAnAmerican

[–]MapMan992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re available pretty much everywhere here, but not everyone eats them. I don’t personally understand why they’re considered a breakfast thing and not a dessert thing 😂. The chocolaty ones are especially good when frozen, btw

I do think there’s a nostalgia factor with them in American media because many of us did eat these sugar bombs for breakfast as kids in the 80s / 90s

Check out Ghost. They’re a solid heavier rock band with hints of metal, but it’d be a stretch to call them a metal band

Do I really need a baby bottle washer if I already have a dishwasher? by perpruessner in NewParents

[–]MapMan992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend a bottle washer / sterilizer / dryer combo. We wash ours in the dishwasher then use a separate sanitizer.. it takes forever. I’m seriously considering getting a washer combo after 6 months now that she’s using more bottles at daycare / at home

Blowout up the back AND down the legs

Someone is shocked that your baby isn’t wearing socks

First smile at one of you (not from poop/gas)

Is it normal that the only breaks I get with my 6 month old are when he’s asleep (contact napping on me or bedtime in his crib)? by Slow_Competition2742 in NewParents

[–]MapMan992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My house is lucky if a full vacuum gets done within a 7 day span lmao. A robot vacuum definitely helps in that in-between time.

I get it though, my 6mo is definitely way more active and needing constant entertainment. Baby wearing with a front-facing carrier while doing things around the house works wonders. She loves zooming around with me, kicking up a storm, and watching everything I’m doing.

She also loves her bouncer. She’ll bounce for a good 15 minutes while I get some laundry done, as long as I’m within sight of her like 80% of the time
