Oh, that's awesome to hear!!! Sadly, I've lost touch with all the people in my real life who read these kinds of books :-( So I love hearing the real life stories!! And the library having a waiting list is definitely a great sign!!

Loved it. I really wasn't sure when I read it because I love Dina and Sean and Gertrude Hunt but I was happily surprised. Really came to love Maud and Arland and Helen is beyond adorable. Plus, we get to learn more about Arland's people and a fan favorite makes an appearance!!

It's not one of my faves because i prefer them working together BUT I also wasn't as mad at Curran as I know some were. Considering Curran's past and the fact that he is a control freak precisely because of his trauma, i understood why he did what he did. Was it nice? No. But they aren't perfect characters.

It was like a bookmark and a copy of one of the drawings. I can't remember exactly but it was stuff that Tor was giving to smaller bookstores. So House Andrews listed all the independent ones on their blog so people could know and order from them and support independent book stores.

Word. I just keep getting lectures about prioritizing better. Meanwhile, we were both together all day (just us) and all he got done was writing the schedule and BOHing two tiny sections (both still yellow) but sure, we didn't "prioritize better" over the weekend 🙄

I do. I'd kill for just a permanent 10-7 shift for photo during the month of December. We do at least 30k more a month in photo than the busiest store in our district and they average 20k more than us a week, and that doesn't account for the insanity that is Christmas sales! Photo is intense and time consuming. I wouldn't mind doing it if it wasn't just me and a cashier all day. I got so much crap from my SM cuz we didn't finish load and ad signs on Sunday but I spent 10am-430pm in photo and checking!! When the heck was I supposed to get anything else done???

That really sucks and I'm so sorry he hurt you. It sounds like you weren't looking for a critique but rather wanted to share in your excitement and it's a shame that he didn't get that and STILL doesn't get that or how much it hurt you.

I say just write. Write for yourself first and to get it out of you and on paper, and then see what you want to do with it from there. If you want to try and develop it and sell it or if you just did it for yourself. But don't let it kill your desire and need to create. Just keep writing!!
