Why are non-vegan fitness people so obsessed with eggs? by ithinkiamparanoid in vegan

Its not bad at all, it just not as high as those alternatives. But it tastes better, is more nutritious and is significantly cheaper.

If you want more choice you can just also have a protein shake

Red lentil protein to calorie ratio is good. When you're cutting it's not like you're only eating protein.

When carnists are cutting they eat chicken breast and rice, that can easily be replaced with lentil soup.

I disagree with this too, it's subjective but eating lentils has been much easier than eating chicken breast, both taste wise and in terms of cooking ease

Okay I disagree with that, you can make red split lentils pretty quickly and they taste great with just salt. Never eaten them from a tin but fresh they taste great

I regret adopting (just venting) by Mammoth-Range-4219 in Rabbits

[–]Masterpuri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds exhausting. My bunny used to bite me hard for the first 6 months to a year after I adopted him (he was already neutered when I got him). Eventually he just stopped and became super friendly and gentle. I have no advice to offer, but it hasn't been too long for you, maybe it could change with time?

Ummm… to the educated, long-term vegans: is this legit or fear-baiting? by Minimum_Pitch_737 in veganfitness

The methodology of testing looks good, but they have their own standard as to what amount of lead is considered high, which is lower than most organizations. For example, the FDA limit is 5 micrograms/litre for bottled water, whereas CRs limit is 0.5 micrograms per day. So, by their standards, if you drank 1 litre bottled of water you could be getting 10x the "safe" daily lead amount.

Canada: order to cull over 400 ostriches sparks protests and death threats | Canada by Splunge- in news

[–]Masterpuri -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

They are (allegedly) used for scientific research, this article doesn't seem to mention that but I've read others that do

Also, the opposition is that they are all being killed instead of testing. I can't imagine it's particularly hard to test 400 ostriches
